У евреев есть свой календарь и числа в нём обозначаются ивритскими буквами. Сегодня 15 число еврейского месяца Шват, 15 - это буквы Тав и Вав (ט"ו), читаем как Ту. А биШват значит "какого месяца", в данном случае Швата.
Я не миссионерствую, просто знаю, что кто-то из моих друзе мог просто не вникнуть в этот вопрос😉

O. M. G. Corned beef hash (we asked for extra burnt crispy- the ONLY way to have corned beef!), potatoes, sunnyside up eggs, toast with butter and jam. Holy mother, this was delicious and hit the spot! Service was fantastic too!
Pro tip: we repeat: ask for the corned beef to be extra crispy! And btw, their pies are excellent too!

Lunches this week - salad, @meerasodha coriander chutney (if you haven’t tried it, you haven’t lived), brined and spiced yogurt marinated chicken, topped with toasted almonds and coconut. I know Tupperware ain’t chic and instagrammable, so sue me.

HOMEMADE / FOOD SPOTLIGHT: Pan Puri/Golgappa 🇮🇳🇵🇰 (we didn't make the puris haha 💁♂️). Super popular street food in South Asia! Thin and crispy deepfried shells made from different types of flour, the 'puri' (I think these were a mix of gram and semolina flour?) filled with chickpeas, diced onion and then filled up with spiced water! The 'pani'. We made our own pani with ginger, chillis, coriander, mango and some masalas. We also bought a ready made tamarind one which has that characteristic tang and subtle sweetness that just really compliments the all the fresh flavours really well. The texture profiles just make these so enjoyable with the liquid pani, the crispy kinda crunch from the puri, the different kinda crunch from the onion and then the softness of the chickpea. 👌 Just super addictive we had like 30/40 each 😂

REVIEW: @hopperslondon, Sri Lankan food in Soho 🇱🇰 I have beeeen waiting since 2017 for an excuse to come back here! And my latest visit did not disappoint (s/o to @sujansriharan & @gweasley425 for the OG assist 🙏) . - I must admit, I came back for one dish in particular that I just HAD to show @not_even_asain, the Bone Marrow Varuval + Roti. Fun fact, did you know Calvin Harris' + Rihanna's hit single "This Is What You Came For" was inspired by this dish? 😭. As the first picture evidences, it is legit some thiccc logs of roasted bone marrow then finished in the accompanying gravy. This for me is one of THE dishes to try in London. It's one of those where you appreciate the creativity but you aren't quite sure what to make of it untill you try and blooodyyyyy helll. It's just so luxoriously rich. The roasting just imparts this tear wrenchingly good deep umami note to the fatty marrow which marries the subtle coconut and otherwise umami notes of the gravy. It would be an absolute red card from me if you don't order another roti and finish off the gravy. Being at hoppers, it seemed fitting to also get some hoppers, a traditional Sri Lankan, bowl shaped pancake make of rice flour and coconut milk, designed to eat with sambals. The hoppers were definitely good but certainly less showtime, as we're the other menu items which did feel a little bit less value for money. Sujan, who's actually Sri Lankan agrees. Apparently, Harrow are the ends to go if you're backing some Sri Lankan munch 👌. That being said, I went for the bone marrow and it did not disappoint. It would be criminal to not give it at least an 8/10. To paraphrase the great @stephenasmith: "That dish is SPECIAL!!!!" - Go check it out guys x

REVIEW (pt 2): @st.john.restaurant - Bread pudding and butterscotch sauce, with I think some kind of orangey citrusy zesty ice cream? (blood orange? 👀)
To be honest, this dessert may look like something you got on a plastic tray in primary school. But that's the best thing about it. No frills, no messing about. Just turns up and does the job 🤙💪 this MF'er had me cussing like Sam L. Jackson 🤬. Oh my goodness was this amazing. So indulgent yet the lightness of the zesty flavours helped to tame down the richness of it all. A very humble, impressive dessert. When visiting St John, DO NOT SKIP DESSERT. TRUST ME. They also bake their own bread in house so you know the baked goods menu finna be fiyaaaaa 🔥 I mean I made a whole seperate post for it so it gotttta be good right? @not_even_asain thoroughly agrees.
The place gets an 8.5/10 for me so iconic 🙅♂️

REVIEW (pt 1): @st.john.restaurant, the iconic London restaurant currently chilling at number 85 in the San Pelligrino @theworlds50best rankings. I've reviewed this place before earlier in the year but I do have to advertise it. It was one of Anthony Bourdain's fave places in London for a reason (RIP chef 🙏). Eating here is an educational experience, it opens your eyes to the possibilities of nose to tail eating. So while for some people they may be scared for some reason at eating hearts or bone marrow etc etc and not really enjoy it, some may enjoy it but not as much as another place and some are blown away, you will learn something about food!! To me that's so beautiful. So when @not_even_asain asked me to do a food tour, this place couldn't be missed 🙅♂️ and ofc we got the roast veal bone marrow toast with parsley salad, and yes it does bang. We even saw Fergus Henderson (OG founder of restaurant) in house!! I was too shook I didn't ask to get a picture hahaha (regrets, lol).
PS: save the shell puppies. Reduce your plastic waste people x
