Yesterday was incredible - one that I’m not liable to forget for a long time. Kyle and I started the day with a 12 mile run up to Lake Mildred which was beautiful and cold and full of mystery as we made our way up the canyon to the lake. The lake was surprisingly lush and I thought we were going to freeze at ten thousand feet in the crazy wind chill. Then it was back to Convict Lake and on to officiate my first wedding. Of course I was all nervous excitement leading up to it and then in the moment it was a blur of sunshine and smiles. As I said yesterday: in this tiny speck of cosmic time there are some things that are inevitable and @kdogsour and Luke, your love feels that way. That was clear all through a beautiful and personal ceremony, all the speeches at dinner and watching family and friends swirl around an adventurous and inspiring couple. Of course yesterday was just one more “I do” in a long litany if “I dos” that Kirsten and Luke have been saying through actions to each other since day one. It was a honor to be part of such a special day. In the end we were all there for the love of mountains.
S I L V E R L A K E is on my mind today ⛰ i can taste that fresh mountain air and hear that happy sound of walking on dirt & gravel. the golden color of the aspens this time of year is insane and those pink sunsets are otherworldly 💞 this is such special place for our family. missing it today especially because @juxtafoto & @sassoart are there this weekend ✨ have fun you two! #silverlake#easternsierras#beautifulplacetobe
Sierra snowmelt is going full force. Hope we get great snow this winter too. That would make for an awesome homecoming next year. In this video you can follow the falls as they continue on down towards the lake. Did you know Lake Tahoe gets half its content from 63 feeding tributaries, and the rest comes from rain? Truckee River is the only outflow.
