Twentieth book of the year. Any book solely based on the TARDIS is an absolute win for me, so having a detailed manual on the Doctor’s Type 40 packed with photos of all the console rooms, Police Box props, detailed plans and brand new visuals makes this my dream book! There are some real gems in here, Gav Rymill’s illustrations are fantastic throughout, with his realisation of what Missy’s TARDIS could have looked like, his detailed renders of the many glorious TARDIS interiors over the years and schematics of consoles and props. If anything I just want more and more of them! I also particularly enjoyed having a few of Mike Tucker’s TARDIS cam photos in print as I remember being so utterly fascinated with them on the Doctor Who website back in 2002, as if they were new Doctor Who, inspiring 12 year old me to create my own TARDIS cams with my Dapol toys. And another shout out for popping Mike’s original nineties console room design into the book, complete with floating console! The book brilliantly and comprehensively catalogues the TARDIS journeys and workings into a really nice read, which for a time ship is an achievement in itself. Fantastic! 📚
