There is a funny irony that normally occurs with the regularity of our posts in comparison to the regularity of our lives. The more absent we appear here, the more we are consumed with our work in this little clay bubble we inhabit. These last few weeks or probably months have been the perfect example. We often feel like we should set up little sleeping pods in our studios as we have been working double time to try and finish the last of our year's work on schedule for the final two drops of the year.
When clay has not been flying around atop the wheel, we have been glazing late into the evening and rising with the sun to finish glazing and pack our kilns. With what time we have spare, we have been on many wild clay adventures, getting blisters digging holes and watching the spring days grow warmer and warmer as they quickly pass by.
The photo above was taken a few mornings ago as we had just glazed a batch of small tumblers - it made us think of all those simple beautiful moments that happen when you are working hard and almost always you forget to appreciate them… 💭
