This is all I want to do today: sleep!! Getting enough sleep in a night is a feat, I tell you!!
It’s been now like 3 months since I was last at the zoo. And I have such a love/hate relationship with the idea of going to the zoo. Like, I LOVE that I can see animals from all around the world at a place so close to home. But I really hate how those poor animals have to live; stuck in an enclosure being harassed by people of all ages. I would be ignoring the world too. I know that some of them are being rehabilitated, or maybe can’t go back to the wild, but I feel there should be stricter guidelines to visiting the zoo. I’ve seen waaay too many animals become agitated because a group of ignorant people are screaming at them. 😕
But that’s just my two cents.
GARY TIME!!! For those who are new or have forgotten, allow me to introduce one of the multiple ground squirrels that live in the backyard of #makerranch in Joshua tree. His name is Gary... well they’re all named Gary. Also... most of them are female. 🐿
He/she loves granola, bread, and @ijessup more than anyone else 😁. #garytime#squirrel#joshuatree#dontfeedthewildlife
How cute is this little fella? He came right up to us in the car park as we were finishing today’s hike. Obviously used to friendly treatment and food, he sniffed my phone in the hope of a meal. I make it a point to never feed wildlife, no matter how unbearably charismatic they are, so he left disappointed. Sorry buddy, you’re too cool being wild. *
We are loving this post today! Thank you @sonnietrotter!
Ok - Funny story...While on the side of the mountain yesterday with my rope soloing set up, I clipped my bag to the side of the cliff and went down for another lap. About 10 min later, I watched as a $20 dollar bill fluttered above me and slowly floated away to a nearby ledge. "Tourists" I mumbled to myself. 30 min later I climbed back up to my pack and low and behold the zipper pocket was completely wide open, and both my @clifbar 's and my clif shots were forever gone. Luckily, my credit cards and keys to my car were still inside. I've seen Ravens do amazing things and now I know they can open zippers while floating in mid air (no ledge to be found) and meticulously select whatever they want from our packs. Luckily they aren't too nasty and left me with my essentials to get back home. #dontfeedthewildlife#mountyamnuska

Crikey here we have a native Floridian redheaded B paddle also known as the Bradle or the Bradlepaddle seen perched precariously in an Eagles Nest nestled into his natural environment. this is a rare and Elusive breed and it's quite often misunderstood and taken as a beast but in all actuality is a gentle and crafty Woodland creature that has been spotted frolicking sunny days away in Clearwater holes and lounging in shaded areas. If you should chance an encounter the Bradle is generally a friendly and sometimes curious even playful creature just don't ever try to sneak up on one and don't feed one because they will never leave #dontfeedthewildlife 🐨
But for real had a great time Sunday with one of my favorite paddle partners the Beautiful @a_wolf_fl we we tucked off in a spot only locals know about and enjoyed some warm sunshine and Coldwater #Floridaboy#Floridagirl #72°soul💙💦
