Whew sorry for being inactive! Lotsss going on recently! Here’s a few photos from a couple days ago, since we don’t have grass turnout at the minute I turned all of the horses (except Ruby) out into the arena together and brought each of them out for grass for half an hour each. Decided to have a quick ride on Alf as well, the only “jump” we have at the minute is the pipe in the video so that’s as high as we could go (excuse rubbish video quality, was on my own so had to set up my phone on the front facing camera) 😩 Must remember to build some jump wings 😂
Another week and the wheels keep turning in the right direction for me. Today, for the first time in 5 years, I completed an 8 hour shift without suffering any anxiety symptoms whatsoever. I had an anxiety free day in work and it's hard to believe based on the chaos of Christmas Saturdays in Penneys.
It's been a long time in coming but it felt good to be going to the toilet to actually use the toilet and not to administer 478 breathing to calm the storm of panic.
I feel my posting of these personal achievements for me is vitally important. I have learned to manage my mental health and I invest and know how to invest in my mental health on a regular basis. I have no doubt, when I continually keep applying the principles I am at present, I will return to a very healthy and happy place. It's not a long way off.
My friends in penneys today commented that that smile hasn't left your face all day and now you know why! My personality has finally reared it's head again after being suppressed for a long time due to mental struggle.
For those who are on the other side of the journey and maybe, can't work due to mental health difficulties, begin to invest in your mental health, start to do a bit of exercise and do it consistently over time.
As I often say, there's no quick fix but I'm proof that consistent investment in our mental health can bring about recovery and eradication of major pain and suffering.
Start your journey now. Take back control. You will get to where I am now and you will be healthy and move past this obstacle in front of you.
Keep fighting and you'll get there!
Fort Dunree (Heather Fort) the gateway to Lough Swilly
The museum gives an interesting insight into the historical importance of this natural harbour and is a good place to stop for coffee on the way up to Rosguill
