🚨Read this before making your next meal!🚨
No, this post isn’t about salad (though it was delicious😁).
Take a look—zoom in, go ahead. I’ll wait.
What do you see?
Yes, a super tender and juicy chicken breast!
That is the power of brining.
Next time you are preparing your next home cooked dish with a lean cut such as chicken breast or pork chops try this:
-Pour 1/2 gallon water in a large pot
-Mix in 1/2 cup kosher salt (1/4 cup if table salt)
-Warm water on low heat to dissolve salt completely
-Chill water with ice or by placing in fridge
-When water is cold, add the meat for anywhere from 2-5 hours (even as little as 1 hour will provide a noticeable difference)
That’s it! Remove the meat and cook as you normally would.
Muscles are essentially bundled fibers. When they are introduced to heat, the muscle fibers contract and pushes the water out similar to when you wring a wet towel. When you brine meat, the salt loosens up the muscle fibers which allows moisture to be absorbed in the process. This also helps the meat to contract less when applied to heat, giving you a more tender and moist final product!
*BONUS* brining will help alleviate the effect of accidental overcooking!
This is how you make tender and juicy protein the Vatelware way.
Now tag a friend who always overcooks chicken and needs some help!😝
The greatest thing I ever did was train and fight for the person to my left and right.
It’s a different culture when you’re in the military and you’re put through uncomfortable situations.
You grow a different kind of bond with people.
They always told me once you leave the military you’ll always miss the military.
I didn’t understand what that meant at first.
In my mind I could only remember the shitty MRE’s or listening to some asshole or running mission after mission with very little sleep and food on a hot ass day
Now I think I understand what they meant.
You miss the culture, the people, the laughing through pain together.
Nothing could can come between you and your team.
Happy Veterans Day to all of you brave twisted fuckers

Keeping this quote in my mind ALL the time recently 🔆
Something that really bothers me is when someone says they want to change, lose weight, have more energy, stay more motivated but they aren’t willing to do anything about it. Y’all, nothing worth having comes easy. It takes work, commitment, consistency, time, patience, more work, and more time, and more patience. I’ve been there before saying I’m going to “get on track” and then losing accountability and motivation, but I said enough to that back and forth lifestyle. Yes, it’s been hard. Yes, I’ve wanted to quit. But, this time I didn’t and the result was so worth the effort. I’ve had a million things happen this week that could’ve knocked me off course, made me quit, made me give up but I am tougher than those obstacles. YOU are tougher than those obstacles. If you are ready for that shift in your life shoot me a message, because I’m so tired of seeing people have dreams and goals and do nothing about them. Its time for action you guys!!! 💪🏼

It is so true that you are a product of your environment! 💯 I feel in such an amazing place right now because I make sure I get shit done and surround myself with like-minded people. So choose an environment that will best develop you toward your ultimate objectives and goals. Analyse your life in terms of its environment. Are the things around you positively impacting you and helping you towards success - or are they holding you back? 🤔

If you were to buy a special gift for a newly married couple from overseas, that represents Nova Scotia and supports local business, what would it be? Thanks in advance! #supportlocal#shophalifax#business
So many Motivational Speakers “steal” or recycle other peoples stories and information from other speakers. As a student of self-development for decades, I see so many of the big names on the speaking circuit quoting age old, well established knowledge and calling it their own. Slap a contemporary title on a book full of other people’s work and you’ve got a best seller and a following! It does not matter if it is intentional or not because when a motivational speaker is asking you to take money from your kids college fund to pay for their “exclusive” 3 day seminar, they should at the very least provide original content. A motivational seminar without an actionable plan is just another, more expensive regurgitation of the same philosophies you can get for free via podcasts. Is your ‘guru’ working WITH and FOR you personally, or are YOU working for THEM? Get a plan, get real life support, take ‘massive action’ as they (and I mean all of them) say. Because ‘Motivation without action is delusion’ - Jim Rohn. For real. Those are his words..

Thank you for the friendships, that were filled with kindness and genuine connections. It was hard for me to leave my life in USA. Newly married and very independent most of my life. Moving away meant fully depending on Derek #husbandoftheyear for our future. He and I embarked on this adventure together. We moved for his job, I left mine at NASA. Sooooo....I enrolled in interior design school, in London, and hoped for the best.
What I got was a tribe of loving, supportive, fantastic, creative, soulful, artists who I’m honored to be in the company.
Thank you ladies for loving me too. .
When your green your growing, when your ripe your rotten.
Have you ever had a conversation with someone stuck in their ways, with their old and outdated views. 🖐🏾 I have, I’ve even been that person. Until I realized that I was stuck. It’s a dead end.
If we aren’t constantly growing, learning new things, being challenged, we end up dying. We die spiritually, mentally, physically, however you accept it. We die! It’s dreadful to witness. With a narrow mind you could also damage the people you love and care for.
The average person reads 2-3 books a year, while the average CEO reads 50-60 books a year. Wow, let that be proof of understanding the pay difference from the average person and the elite CEO. If you could sit down with a celebrity that you admire and pick their brain for 1 full day it still wouldn’t amount to what you can discover in a book. Imagine someone compressing their whole life’s experiences in a book. Well... that’s what it’s like reading. How could you not read?
If you want to be valuable, you must become valuable. I insist on everything and everyone that I can touch to be the absolute best that they or it can possibly be.
Start demanding greatness from yourself, don’t be a rotten apple. .
