Happy birthday to this bella bambina, who’s been helping to shape the culture at the grove since august 2012, pre-opening. We couldn’t be more thankful/proud to have her right here. My most sincere respect and gratitude- for the hard work and the memories along the way.

So I can’t stop thinking about something i read from @thefreelancetribe . That people compliment talent - the better a business gets the more we talk about talent. But really it’s not usually talent but hard work. And people compliment talent more. I don’t think I’m particularly talented. I think I can make beautiful, soulful pictures because I get to work with great people. And I’ve been taking pictures a long time. But talent makes me uncomfortable. On the other hand, I love hard work. I’ve spent more weeks than I care to remember working 60-80 hours a week. My mom mentioned to me today that I generally don’t take a day off. I don’t honestly know. But I will work tirelessly to achieve my goals.
My favorite/most inspiring business owners that I get to call my friends/learn from are tireless as well. I can text them at 1 am because I know they’re working too. Maybe we’re all cray together but that’s ok.
Yes, I want my pictures to make you feel something. That’s always been my goals. But the thing we don’t see always is the crazy work that goes into building something, anything.
So to all of you out there...I’m impressed by your hard work. .
We’re always thinking about our guests. So when it’s rainy and cold out, we grab some Proper Sausage goodies from Miami and serve it up at the grove. Take your pick tonight: Maple Foie or Blue Cheese & Fig sausage served over smoked gruyere polenta and rosemary butter beans.
