Happy #harmonyday to our multicultural hometown Darwin. A special day to appreciate the unique cultures that we come from. Irish Dancing is for everyone and we welcome students from all different backgrounds and nationalities, not just those with Irish heritage. #everyonebelongs 💚
✨Pass it on! 🙌🏼Sharing a gorgeous image of my girl @jahlach setting the vibes for our last photoshoot... ✨ A year ago after the cyclone hit I collected all of the fallen eucalyptus leaves and turned them into smudge sticks.. they have the wonderful smell of our native bush and the strength of a cyclone!! 💥 May your day be filled with magic as the wheel of the year turns once more 🙏🏼✨
Day 20: Design Process;
For me it usually works with an idea that pops up and slowly over the months I will find a way to adapt and change it. For example, I’ve been making zipper pouches for nearly a year now but I’m only just starting to think about making them into hardy bags with more uses by adding on hardware and straps.. I’m constantly excited by new fabrics, linings and trims but take my time with the development stage.
Other than that the actual process is rather simple; an idea pops up in my ‘thinking of 29 different things at once’ brain, I jot it down as a note or picture in my notebook, I create a pattern and get started sewing. Easy peasy!

Sending you a postcard from paradise, also known as #EastArnhemLand 🍃 This is Lonely Beach, a very beautiful (and real!) place that you can explore on a tour with aboriginal-owned organisation @Lirrwi Tourism. They offer day and multi-day guided tours into the remote Yolngu Homelands, departing from #Nhulunbuy ( #Gove ) between April and October. You'll get to see how the world's oldest living culture still does things today - from traditional spear fishing to gathering of bush foods. East Arnhem Land is only a short flight from #Darwin or can be accessed via the Central Arnhem Road. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia , @haylsa! #SeeAustralia#TourismTopEnd

Family: 🖼 @tesori_italiani | @archaeology_treasures 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 “Charles Darwin” is a oil on canvas (125x96 cm) portrait painting by John Collier, made in 1883 and housed at the National Portrait Gallery, London.
This portrait of Charles Darwin, the great scientist and author of On the Origin of Species, is a copy by the artist of a portrait undertaken by John Collier for the Linnaean Society. Collier was himself the son-in-law of another prominent late Victorian scientist, Thomas Henry Huxley. The portrait was presented to the Gallery by Darwin's eldest son, William Erasmus Darwin, who wrote to Lionel Cust in 1896: 'The picture is a replica of the one in the rooms in the Linnaean Society and was made by Collier after the original. I took some trouble about it and as a likeness it is an improvement on the original.' It shows Darwin as an old man in the year before his death. According to Darwin's third son, Francis, 'The portrait represents him standing facing the observer in the loose cloak so familiar to those who knew him and with his slouch hat in his hand. Many of those who knew his face most intimately, think that Mr Collier's picture is the best of the portraits and in this judgement the sitter himself was inclined to agree. 🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹🔸🔹 ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀🏛 Share our Wonderful Heritage 🏛
Let me introduce you to the “Mother of Kangaroos”! 🦘 This guys name is “Brolga”, and he’s an absolute legend! He’s the founder of the @thekangaroosanctuary in Alice Springs, and is making it his mission to educate and encourage people to rescue and care for kangaroos as well as other wildlife and animals.
PSA — so if you happen to be in Australia and rent a car, please stop if you see a dead kangaroo on the side of the road! There’s a decent probability that there will be a Joey (baby kangaroo) in the mother’s pouch, and you can rescue it! I had no idea about this until I visited the @ausoutbacknt , and think it’s an important message to share! .
Brolga is quite famous on IG, and their page really is incredible! Go give them a follow to add in some cute kangaroos in your IG scrolling, lol .
