Nunca me salto mi tratamiento semanal. .
Today, I documented the current morning process. I cowash (every week or so) Hair is naturally going gray so it has changed in texture over the past few years. So I am working on finding the right products. Curls have been a part my journey...and still feel I have so much to learn.
Wanting to be perfect will bite you in the 🍑! I almost didn’t post today because my curls aren’t perfect yet, but that’s not what a curly community is for. I had to remind myself it isn’t about being perfect, but about helping each other along the journey! And that’s also part of doing the Curly Girl Method. It takes time and patience to detox your hair off silicones and sulphates, and heal it from heat damage from straightening. And my hair is still transitioning - I’ve been doing everything from the curly girl method for about 20 years, except I didn’t know about silicones or protein. So I’m still learning! ⠀
Yesterday’s wash day was a *bust*! With the high humidity that we have here in Georgia, I realized I no longer needed the leave-in conditioner. So I washed everything out with @asiamnaturally coconut cowash and restyled with @aussiehair Instant Freeze Gel and @moptophair Curly Hair Custard. Then I dried with a hooded dryer (see all of this in my stories and highlights in my profile!). My hair was muuuuch happier and bouncier afterwards! ⠀

#transformationtuesday so these pics are just about a year apart and while my hair is definitely longer, darker and curlier..I feel like I know better how to give my hair what it needs to be healthy and when it’s healthy the curls come out to play. It. Takes. Time. And lots and lots of trial and error and successes and failures but when you learn to give your hair what it needs, you AND your hair will be happy. Just do NOT give up!!! Reach out to the community here because it’s awesome and amazingly supportive.

When your clients come prepared for photo shoots...... Color and Devacut by @uncagedbeauty12
Four weeks ago, during an unusually humid tropical period even for #georgiasummers, I decided to do a one month #selfacceptance#selflove challenge and wear my hair curly every day for at least the next month. No flat iron whatsoever, and a return to the #curlygirlmethod that I tried for a while in 2010. Let's just say that the struggle bus hauled me more days than my Jeep lately!! 😂😂😂 BUT....the single photo shows progress, and the first day that I was happy with my #naturalhair. The second photo highlights some of the worst days early on...days when I should've worn a hat!!!! Also, so weird how lighting makes my hair look colors that are nowhere near reality!
So, 4 weeks later, do I love my 2b/2c waves? Nope. Have I missed my silky straight winter hair? Yep, but I've also decided that I kind of like having a little natural texture to my hair. So I may not love it yet, but I'm embracing it enough to keep going with it. One thing I do love - #cantucurlactivator#myholygrailproduct 😍
Pretty sure more of the gel ended up on my stovetop than in the jar. This may not be worth the trouble after all. Seriously, if you make your own flax seed gel do NOT use tights as a strainer. #curlygirlmethod#diyfail

If you’ve been thinking about whether or not you should make take the chance (whatever that may be) -do it and do it quick because the time will pass anyway and you might as well spend it chasing those dreams that could one day provide you with a life you never dreamed possible. It’s out there, you just have to be willing to go chase it with fierce determination and never quit until you do! Why not you?

Julie Did a first time curly cut on this beautiful set of curls, she wanted to do a v-shape with long layers and wanted to get more volume. Used Raw Curls cleanser, conditioner, style with Raw Curls antifrizz and medium gel and finish with a mixture of Raw Curls pomade and serum. 💚
Making flax seed gel for the first time, but I think I should have used thinner stockings as a strainer. Currently letting it cool so I can try to squeeze it all out. If it’s half as good as people say it is, it will be worth the trouble. #curlygirlmethod
Thought my hair was going to be gross today but it’s looking gooood in this selfie. Haha! #curlygirlmethod

Yesterday was a mini breaking point for me at work. I didn’t truly realize how much stress I was pushing down and of course it comes up in the middle of a crazy shift 👍🏻 But today I can’t dwell on it because I’m back for more! This season is still here, the downward spiral of depression that I thought I worked through years ago, and it’s a tough one to get through. So I woke up and did 10 minutes of my workout. Better than yesterday though ☺️ I gave my curls some much needed lovin’ and I bought a sugary Dunkin Donuts drink to prep for tonight!
Bit late to the party (as ever) but I've been hearing a lot about the curly girl hair method lately. Going to give it a try. Just wondering whether anyone on here has tried it and how they got on with it. This photo shows what my hair does if washed and left to dry naturally at the moment. I'm hoping for better defined curls ♥️ #curlygirlmethod#longhair#curlyhair
Today was 16+ years in the making. When I was in high school, I discovered @naturallycurly’s Curl Talk forums and spent *a lot* of time on there — and that’s where I “met” THE Jess of @jessicurl. She was so incredibly kind, and her products were well-loved. I was saving for college and not spending much on hair care, but I imagined that one day I, too, would try and love Jessicurl. TODAY WAS THAT DAY.
I really put these products to the test, trying them out on a very humid 90-degree day, and they more than delivered. Ringlets galore and minimal frizz — what else could I ask for? And I have such a sentimental attachment to @jessicurl that it makes these results all the more thrilling. If you haven’t tried @jessicurl yet, they offer free samples — all you pay is shipping. How awesome is that?! I can’t wait to try more from their lineup.
