@myhousethismonth Day 24 #instareality . I’m hiding in the summerhouse with a glass of wine (just don’t ask!) I love my beautiful summerhouse but the reality right now is it has some of the bathroom fittings taking up space, I’ve got rid of a storage thing I didn’t like but haven’t yet replaced it, so it’s pretty messy. However, it’s actually warm enough to sit out here for a while, so I’m not complaining. #villagelife 🏡 #foreverhome#cottagelife#ivycottage#myhousethismonth
When most of us think about a healthy lifestyle, we usually think diet and exercise. But don't forget that natural home products are part of this! Inspired by the great outdoors, our elegant line of Natuur Candles offer healthy benefits to using soy wax:
- 100% natural, made from NON-gmo soy beans
- Soy wax does not release toxins into the air - Soy wax burns at a much lower temperature than paraffin, which gives a much longer burn rate - Natuur Candles uses the finest fragrance oils to reduce and prevent allergic reactions and toxic gases.
Did we mention they are locally made in Perry, Ontario?
Stop by Garden Market and browse our selection of unique giftware, furniture and decor, located at 85 Ontario Street in Burks Falls. We are open every day from 10-5. .
Finally, after two near miss hurricanes that brought lots of wind and rain and a few years of blistering sunshine, my old cypress door is almost free of all the peeling varnish. I think I’ll just sand it and put on a few coats of tung oil. Having an old wood house at the beach is a constant labor of love! ❤️😎🌴 #beachcottage#frontdoor#cottagelife#shinglestyle#springplanters#pansies
It is hard not to imagine a traditional Ukrainian home without mallows. These beautiful flowers are floral symbols of Ukraine, representing love for native land and soulful energy of its people. As a national reminder of spiritual roots and ancestors, mallows fill up heart with joy.
Look at our cute new girl! 😍☕️ We love a good cup of tea over here, and since we recently switched up our coffee equipment, we’ve found ourselves lacking a water kettle. We decided to keep an eye out for a cute and classic white one. We were not disappointed. 😁 She will live on this stove and be both practical and adorable! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have an appointment with Earl Grey and some almond milk. 🌿 #teatime
We had a great time at the Spring @cottagelife Show this weekend getting some inspiration for spring! 🏡🌿 Here are some saunas, tiki bars, modular homes/bunkies and seamless glass railings all dying to be built/installed ➡️ Swipe to see more! Thanks to @stoneroxcanada and @bradstonecanada for the tickets! #kingsgrovecontracting
We use an unexpected spice in this SPICY ZUCCHINI BREAD, lots of veggies in our RICE PAPER VEGGIE ROLLS and just the right amount of blue in our BLUE CHEESE DIP. Let's have a wonderful week, shall we? .

Just stopping by with a big fluffy wisteria to say hi 💜 I’ve been a bit quiet with moving stress this week. Aaron and I had our first ‘wow we could totally live here’ viewing - we visited a gorgeous little cottage in a village that’s both near the city and far away from it all (and it’s right next to our allotment woohoo). Now I have to put my rose tinted spectacles away and go for a rational second viewing. Goshhhh I want a cottage. 🙈
Good morning lovelies ♡ I have woken up to a humbling 17K followers and I'm both shocked and thrilled to have you on this journey with me 🤗 Some of you have been with me from the very beginning when I started this account to feel connected to the outside world during maternity leave. So for all my wonderful new followers, I thought you might like to know abit (alot) more about our journey to Rectory Cottage 😬 ♡
Me and my husband purchased our first cottage together in December 2013 (we obviously like to move before Christmas 🤦🏼♀️) called St Mary's Cottage which was an 18th Century, terraced, chocolate box, Victorian Cottage which we renovated and lived there for 4 years. In that time we had 3 gorgeous boys (Jasper 4, Theo 3 and Grayson 18 months). We also did a Christmas feature of St Mary's Cottage for Style At Home Magazine in 2015. We decided (much to people's shock) to sell St Mary's Cottage as the garden wasn't big enough to raise 3 boys and our dream was always a quirky, full of character thatched cottage. We sold St Mary's Cottage a year ago last week would you believe!! Where has that time gone?! In that year we moved on site at my Husband's place of work to save for the bigger dream. 9 months later, after one disappointing house purchase fell through (thank God for that now) we found Rectory Cottage, the vision of my dream cottage. And here we are sharing it all with you. We moved into Rectory Cottage December of last year 🏡 ♡
In reality my home is never as tidy as the corners that you see. I have to time my photos right or pick the tidiest corner at that time, all the while it's as if a bomb has gone off in another room. I don't pretend to lead the perfect life nor do I let Instagram dictate the rules. I've given up trying to compete with the big trendsetters and I'm comfortable with my worth and where it's got me so far. Im grateful for each and every lovely comment and message I receive and I thank you all 😘 ♡
On a personal level - I'm 33 and have been with my hubby for 13 years this June (married 9 years this Sept). I'm a working mum and work for a law firm in Exeter as a PA. That bit was short ha!
Have a wonderful Saturday ♡
Being an artist is not without its challenges: I was pretty disappointed and disheartened to get (yet another) rejection letter to a local outdoor art show. It’s definitely difficult to dust yourself off and soldier on. One greatly questions one’s skill level, worth as an artist and life purpose in the face of rejection. I’m not looking for sympathy, I just want to keep it real: it’s not all pretty paintings, rainbows and unicorns in art land.
