Steering wheel treatments come in a variety of options and styles. The most basic of steering wheel treatment is a universal steering wheel cover which easily slides over the outside edges of the steering wheel. They are generally fairly cheap and found commonly at automotive retailers. These universal covers do not encompass the rim of the wheel nor do they go up the spokes of the steering wheel and typically are just held on by tension. The second steering wheel treatment is a semi-universal steering wheel wrap, which is a step up from the universal steering wheel covers. These semi-universal wraps are specifically built to the customer's steering wheel dimensions so that the wheel wrap will lace up and encompass the rim of the wheel, but does not go up the spokes. The last common steering wheel treatment is a complete factory style rewrap. A factory style rewrap requires the time and attention of a professional upholsterer to pattern and hand-stitch the new leather in place, which can take anywhere from 6-12 hours on average depending on the complexity of the wheel. This means that the steering wheel has to be removed and sent off to be recovered.

One of my favorite tools in my arsenal. Back about 5 years ago when I heard about these 3M belt sanders I was hesitate on how well they worked. I talked to our 3M rep and got him to get one for us. As soon as I started using it I never looked back. Wouldn’t work a day in this industry without one now.

Doing some creative pulling. Sometimes you have to get a little creative on the frame rack. This F150 tow hook twisted up the frame where it mounts, pushing part of the from up and pulling another part area down. In the picture you can see I did one single pull which pulled down one spot while using that yellow steel bar to push up on another area. Worked perfect 👌

Do you every have one of those jobs that make you want to just say F*** this and walk out? Lol luckily I’ve never gotten to that point but if one car was going to push me to there, it would have been this one! For the last week I have been on putting 2 full frame rails in this Mercedes Sprinter van and it hasn’t been fun. I’ve had some that were more aggravating but that was years ago when I was less experienced. This one has went pretty smooth for the most part, it just feels like it’s never going to end! Almost there though!
