If you are in the Hixson/Chattanooga area, we just started making vinyl cd-r discs for our new EP, "Angels + Demons." If you want one, they are five dollars each. They come with the flier that we give out that contains a qr code that will take you to our bandcamp page, where you can digitally download the album for free (or however much you want if you would like to donate to help us out.) If you would like to buy one or have any questions, let me know. Thank you.

A few months ago we partnered with the Boys & Girls Club to build the first mini Planet Fitness in the region at Northwest Middle School. Today we cut the ribbon for official grand opening💜⬇️
This will always be a safe space for kids to come and workout in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Kids are near and dear to my heart so it was super emotional and heart warming to see how excited they were to have this opportunity in their community. The Boys & Girls Club is an amazing organization and I will always support them and what they do 💜
As the host of a podcast with a tagline "do the work; be boss" I think a lot about what work is and how to do it right.⠀
If you're a creative business owner (aka boss), chances are that your work looks like a lot of things: emails, proposals, bookkeeping, making or delivering the thing... just to name a very few.⠀
But what about connecting, growing, and learning?⠀
I have found that my best work happens when I'm investing time and money back into my own growth and education, with the best returns happening not when I buy a course or download an ebook, but when I'm hiring a coach, meeting with peers and mentors, and traveling to connect in real life.⠀
It makes all the other work more joyful, easier to do, and considerably more impactful. Yes, please.⠀
Are you prioritizing this kind of work in your business this year? I am, and I know it'll pay off in spades.⠀
ARE YOU A BOSS LOOKING FOR A CREATIVE BUSINESS MASTERMIND? Round 2 of my Make It Do Mastermind + Retreat is open for enrollment. I'm looking for 4-6 creative business owners who are ready to take their online business to the next level!⠀
DM me if you want more info!⠀
Hike Through History! Join us this weekend for an Anthropology Hike at Moccasin Bend National Archaeological District, led by Dr. Nick Honerkamp, UC Foundation Professor of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. National Park Partners is hosting this guided hike on Sunday, January 20th at 1pm, while the regularly scheduled ranger programs are temporarily cancelled due to the government shutdown. Join us and Dr. Honerkamp as we follow in the footsteps of those forcibly removed during the Trail of Tears, and learn more about the critical role that same path played in the Civil War Campaign for Chattanooga just 25 years later.
We'll have some brief remarks at the trailhead, then walk the 3/4 of a mile trail to the Tennessee River at Brown's Ferry for an informative program with Dr. Honerkamp. Please help us keep this and our other six units of YOUR Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park clean by packing out what you pack in! This program is free and open to the public, with donations to National Park Partners gratefully accepted that will preserve, promote, and enhance the Park's historic and cultural resources. Need directions? Visit the CHCH webpage here:

This handsome guy is Bowser!! He’s a pretty laid back guy that’s just as happy to hangout at the house as he is going on adventures! He’s around 3 years old & very polite and friendly with other dogs but isn’t a fan of rambunctious rude dogs. So if you have a pup at home bring them in to meet him to see if they get along. Come meet him! Bowser will make a great addition to any family! **If I’m not quite what you are looking for click on the link in our profile for more available animals!!
Look for us in the freshly printed Resource & Relocation Guide! This great magazine has everything you need to know about the Chattanooga area and is an invaluable guide to those of us who are new to the area.
I have taken some time away from social media. Truthfully, it was a self-preservation decision after suffering several losses over the holiday season. Also, probably a reaction to my sharing something so personal on FB. I poured out my heart in a moment of grief and then thought, “What have I done?” But you responded with an outpouring of support and kindness. Thank you. Your words meant the world to us. I have learned a little about myself in the past month. I have learned that grief is not a straight line. I have days that I feel like my old self and days I want to just pull the covers over my head and have a good cry. My hormone levels have returned to pre-pregnancy numbers, so that definitely helps the grieving process. I have learned to be kinder and more forgiving to myself. I don’t need to be everywhere for everyone. It’s ok to say “no” and to take this time to focus on my work, my health, and my wonderful husband. Over the last year and a half, I have gained weight as a side effect of fertility meds. I know it’s not permanent, but it’s difficult to look in the mirror and not recognize myself. I understand that this will be a slow and difficult process and will take a lot of hard work. But I am ready for this challenge! And even though I already knew this, I am married to the greatest man in the world. My sweet husband tells me I am beautiful and how much he loves me, every single day. I am so very grateful for his friendship and love.❤️ Also, life without social media is really kind of great, so I intend to limit my use to a few days a week (except for watching cat and dog videos on IG-totally doesn’t count). Nick recently shared a mantra that gets him through difficult times. Also, pretty sure it’s a line from Bat Man. But I expect no less from my superhero loving husband. “Why do we fall down? So we can get back up.” It’s a new year filled with hope and promise, and we are back up and ready to face the days ahead. So much to be thankful for and to look forward to this coming year. See you all soon.

The question “Where are you from?” has always always been a tricky one for me. I spent the 80’s moving 5 or 6times around north Georgia. In the 90’s I lived in Boise, Idaho (moved twice). From 2000 to present I have been in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area (3 moves). My husband by contrast, only moved once before he met me.
In 2013 we bought a house. It is an older house (1939) and has huge tulip poplar in the back yard. This more than anything else has made me feel rooted in a way I never felt before. In the past, I always found myself hesitant to plant things in the ground because I would have to leave them when I inevitably moved. After we bought our house I started planting. I bought small blueberry bushes knowing it would take years before they would produce a decent amount. I planted so many flowers and herbs. I still have potted plants but they are mainly jades and so can’t be planted outside.

I am excited to announce a new concept I’m adding to my Thursday 6pm classes: dedication practices. Describe to me what your body longs for, poses that speak to you, and intentions you’d like to set. For example: this Thursday’s practice is dedicated to @amyjo90 , where we will do deep shoulder blade, quad, and hip openers. If you’re in need of something specific, DM me with details and you will be on the list for future classes. Be as specific or broad as you’d like! See you all on Thursday ❤️🙏 #chattanooga#chattayoga#yogalanding#personalpractice#sangha#communityyoga#affordableyoga
