There are obstacles that come w/ sharing this kind of information with others. Some people try to argue with facts bc of their emotional attachment to these chemicals we call food. Others assume that I have no clue what I'm talking about bc I'm not a doctor. A few months ago a blood test revealed my cholesterol was 340. It’s partly hereditary, but I spent some time researching and made big changes. I felt like I ate fairly healthy before, so such a high number was kind of baffling. After 3 weeks of eating vegan, as well as some other things I came across in my research, my cholesterol is now 231. It hasn’t been easy, but there is something powerful about taking your health in your own hands. I don’t know what it means exactly going forward, but honestly I kinda love eating this way. I feel healthier, I’m losing weight, getting my cholesterol down naturally, and feeling good about the process. (Lunch pictured: quinoa, butternut squash, kale, and red peppers with green goddess dressing.) More and more, I’m convinced that what we eat is the secret to a lot of what ails us. #healthfood#healthyeating#changeyourdietchangeyourlife#cholesterol#vegan#vegetarian#bowls#yum#health#takebackyourhealth

Just another #vegan friend! 💚
Former President Clinton spoke to #CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta @drsanjaygupta about his move from omnivore to vegan. #Clinton says:
“At Thanksgiving, I had one bite of turkey... I essentially concluded that I had played Russian roulette, because even though I had changed my #diet some and cut down on the caloric total of my ingestion and cut back on much of the cholesterol in the food I was eating, I still — without any #scientific basis to support what I did — was taking in a lot of extra cholesterol without knowing if my body would produce enough of the enzyme to support it, and clearly it didn’t or I wouldn’t have had that blockage. So that’s when I made a decision to really change.” #changeyourdietchangeyourlife#vegansofig#vegans#plantpowered#plantpower#veggielovers
Want to make some healthy lifestyle changes but don’t know where to start? Try cutting out all animal products (meat, poultry, fish, dairy, etc) one day a week.
Eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds will DRASTICALLY improve your health. So if you haven’t yet tried this eating style...see if you can commit to it for 24 hours. We think you’ll want more😉

“Abs are made in the kitchen”
“You can’t out-work a poor diet”
“You are what you eat”
We’ve all heard these sayings before. But did you know there is actually some TRUTH to them??
For years, I’ve been really good at working out. I enjoy it, and for the most part, I’m pretty good at it!
But the one area I’ve never been good at...nutrition!
I’ve always had the mindset that “I worked out today, therefore I can eat the pizza/ice cream/donut/take-out/insert your favorite food!” WRONG!!
While I do not believe that our favorite “junk” foods have no place in our lives, I do think they need to be in moderation, and only when they align with your plan! (Schedule those treat meals into your PLAN!)
For the next 4-6 weeks, I’m allowing my muscle injury to heal, and it’s difficult for me to hold back from working out. .
But what the next 4-6 weeks IS allowing me to do, is focus on my NUTRITION. This is where the rubber meets the road for achieving some big weight loss goals!
What do you struggle with the most when it comes to your health and fitness goals? Workouts? Motivation? Nutrition?
Hey, y’all! I’m making spaghetti for dinner. 🍝 && just wanted to take a moment to say, stop eating so much white flour, white pasta, & white bread! 🛑 •
A good step forward to having a healthy diet is about making small incremental changes to your diet so it’s sustainable. It’s seems like a daunting task having to be told you can’t eat this, this, this, this, or this. Things you are so accustomed to eating. That is the wrong approach to changing your diet. It will not be sustainable if you restrict soo much so quickly. •
So, my advice to you. Make small changes in your diet. Eat less white this and that, grab for the whole grain pasta, I swear you can’t taste the difference if it’s covered in sauce lol. And how much more nutrient dense. When white pasta or bread is made, it’s stripped of all its nutrients to create the “white”, In layman’s terms. It’s greatly refined and so after processing they enrich or add back nutrients to the product. With a whole grain product you’re getting the entire grain not just the starchy center, it’s a complex carbohydrate(whole grain) not a simple carbohydrate(white anything) . And it’s certainly better for your digestive tract, and it won’t cause rapid spikes in your blood sugar levels. I could go on and on but I’ll leave it at that. •
Incremental changes. You can do it, do it for your health. 💚💚 •
Two years ago I was depressed. To get out of bed and be pain free, I had a whole cocktail of drugs that I would either inject or wash down with my morning tea. My arthritis was raging, and the only way to get through the day was to pump my body full of those meds. I was weak. I couldn’t seem to get stronger no matter what I did. It seemed like an endless loop, and it was easy to see why I slipped into a depression. ▫️
I was tired of the way I was living and wanted to change. To that end I made two decisions that changed my life: I created an Instagram account and I radically changed the way I was eating. ▫️
Don’t laugh at the instragram account thing. I really thought about how I wanted to use it. I wanted a space just for ME. To focus on what I liked. What was beautiful to me. As an only-parent so much of my time is devoted to either my job or my kids, and I had no idea even what I really liked. So I started taking pictures. The first year I posted pretty much to like 20 followers. ....but something amazing began to happen- I got more followers. I began interacting with those followers and they inspired me. Since then I’ve met several people IRL, and it’s been wonderful. So unexpected. I truly believe that if who you’re following doesn’t want to make you be better, you’re not following the right people. The people I follow here inspire me everyday. ▫️
Secondly, I changed my diet. Huge you guys, huge. Within only *two weeks* of following the gut balance revolution program, I was able to cut back on my meds. Within six weeks, I was *completely off all meds*!! It was an absolutely euphoric feeling and I can’t begin to describe to you how it felt to be pain free without giving myself injections and taking a shit ton of pills. Amazing. ✨
I recently suffered a little set back with my arthritis (I know what caused it), and I am on the mend from that and am hoping to once again be med free here pretty quick. I believe this set back would have been much, much worse if I hadn’t been eating so well. ▫️
Anyhoo. I’m slowly gaining my strength back and am glad to be here with you all. You all inspire me to live more healthy and to explore new places outdoors. ✨
#day13 of my #28dayfast#fastingfebruary Feeling good today. Wasn’t feeling so great last night but I stuck it out anyway. It wasn’t hunger related, just feeling a bit off. I am so proud of myself for accomplishing this! My stubbornness is really paying off and like I have said before, saying it out loud and having others follow really helps me stay committed. It is very true what they say, that no one should go this alone! Everyone needs support and fortunately with the Internet, we can find support, even if our family isn’t as supportive as we would like them to be, which is definitely my situation. I do love them though and my husband has been so great cooking for my kids throughout this month to make it easier for me. Today was the first day I am feeling the weight loss that has occurred over the last 13 days. I can feel it in my thighs in particular, which is great since I would love to have some nice shape to my legs. I have always described them as tree trunks. They have always looked swollen to me so I have never worn shorts. I also am not fond of my flabby arms. So, the goals I have now, is to be proud to walk around in shorts and a sleeveless shirt. That would be the ultimate accomplishment for me, instead of that number on a scale. Last night I had a dream that I ate a bunch of carbs and bread. Lol the funny thing is that I woke up full. I love dreaming while #fasting. No need for guilt but got the satisfaction anyway. #ketotransformation#autophagyfast#breakingupwithcarbs#changeyourdietchangeyourlife#insulinresistence#fatadapted#keto#ketoforlife#carnivore#ketogenic#ketogeniclifestyle#drfung#drjasonfung#fastingforhealth#fastingforweightlossandhealth#weightlossjourney#weightlosstransformation#neverfatagain

Need a little motivation to kick start your goals for a powerful week. “There is nothing out of your reach. Dream big.” Eating healthy doesn't have to be out of reach, visit the link in our bio to see our products.
I am literally obsessed with clean eating! Not in a worrisome kind of way — just in a healthy “I now know my meals are fueling, healing, and nourishing my body” kind of way..
Are you nourishing your body or slowly harming it? Reflect on this because I promise you eating clean will not only make you feel and look better inside and out, but you’ll be healing your body and mind in ways you didn’t even notice needed healing! .
What does the food YOU eat do for YOUR body?
I would just like to point out that I've had my reservations about posting these pictures publicly. Over the last year or so, I have been though so much change, so much stress and so much heart ache. I allowed myself to unravel and soothed my wounds with alcohol and food and poor sleeping patterns. In this year, I put on 65 POUNDS!
I took a photo with my family on Christmas Eve, and I couldn't even recognize the woman in the photo with my boys. I was huge, I was tired and I was miserable.
That was the moment I knew I had to change. I bought myself a few new sports bras and I stopped eating bread. I didn't have a goal in mind when I started and i still don't have a specific weight that i plan on being... But I know I want to be healthy.
These photos are exactly one month apart. (The blue was taken on January 8th) . Since switching to #keto I have seen my body change in many more ways than featured in this photo. I have endurance. I have stamina. I have drive and most importantly.. I have confidence!
I am so proud of myself.. and this is #mywhy.
Thank you for reading!
Baby it’s cold outside. #day7 of my #28dayfast#fastingfebruary#fastingmonth and I am feeling no hunger whatsoever. I was even able to clean some crap out of my cupboards like pasta and rice and brown sugar. I threw it all away. Feeling great and like I said, no hunger which is great! I am barely even thinking about food today. Also haven’t been obsessed about checking the amount of hours I have been fasting either. My daughter has a play this afternoon and my other 2 are doing music and one does tennis, so Thursday is usually a big day for them. Soon it will be their vacation and they will be home for a week. I must admit I like it when the house is quiet though, lol. Big changes are coming in my life so February was a great month for me to do this #fast#fasting. I started up a little routine in the morning doing body squats. My leg and butt are feeling it. I will do them daily from now on in the morning. Still haven’t checked my #ketones today but will soon. I just signed up for the #lowcarbcruise in the Caribbean so I cannot wait. Hopefully some of my favorite doctors and scientists will be there. It will be nice to soak in some sun too. Living in a cold country makes me need to run for sun during vacation time. Plus it will be a lovely, lifetime memory with my best friend. Will be nice to be around a bunch of like minded people #lowcarb#ketogenic#keto#ketogeniclifestyle#changeyourdietchangeyourlife#insulinresistence#insulinsensitive#ketotransformation#fasting#drjasonfung#drfung#waterfasting#autophagy#autophagyrocks
#day6 of my #28dayfast and still feeling fine with absolutely #nohunger which is making this not so terrible. I am getting used to the foodless evenings now and like I said, I absolutely love the empty feeling in the morning when I wake up. I have a very hard time leaving my bed. Fortunately, work has been quiet, so I have been home almost the entire week. It was a brilliant choice for me to choose February as my #fastingmonth#fastingfebruary because it is still gray outside and it is common to want to hibernate in the Winter. March will be a great month. I am feeling so good in both my body and my mind. This is the easiest fast I have ever done. I guess it is true what they say. That fasting is like a muscle you have to build up. The psychological aspect hasn’t been a big deal this time. A day here and there of #fasting will be nothing after this month. Since we are closing up our Airbnb in our house, I was delighted to throw all the breakfast cereal out in the trash. Complete poison for the body! I bought a little mini trampoline for the house to use while I am inside the house with all the money I am saving from buying food this month :). Life is fantastic! #fast#intermittentfasting#extendedfasting#changeyourdietchangeyourlife#insulinresistence#insulinsensitive#carbsarepoison#ketogeniclifestyle#ketotransformation#drjasonfung#drfung#fastinglifestyle
OMG!!! This burger just changed my life. One of the most difficult things I was dealing with as I make my transition to soy, gluten, gmo, and meat free, was not being able to eat beef burgers. HOWEVER, I just tried a @beyondmeat 100% Plant Protein burger and I'm blown away. It honestly tastes better than the burgers at all the low end and many of the mid-tier chains. #changeyourdietchangeyourlife
