Meet Cauliflower, broccoli’s brother from another mother. Green is usually the color associated with a vegetable side-dish -like Broccoli. That’s great, but you’ll definitely want to add the white Cauliflower to your variety. This cruciferous vegetable packs a good dose of protein, Vitamin C, Potassium and other great nutrients. At Smith’s we started growing Cauliflower alongside Broccoli and have seen it become more popular throughout the years.
The Main was Ink Pasta in Seafood in Cilicen Tomato Sauce. It has wowed us when being served because the amount of seafood they have put inside the plate was much more than we expected! We could not even see the Ink Pasta as the seafood has entirely covered them. Out of all these toppings, mussels were fresh which have being cooked to perfection, but others were just average.
The Soup was Cauliflower Cream Soup which was average. Nothing surprised us, with up to standard level of creaminess in terms of the texture, without being too heavy. Some obvious flavour of cauliflower too.
Made a quick dinner with peanut sauce and tossed it with some baked tofu. Side of roasted veggies, cucumbers and rice. I looooooooooove anything with peanut. Soo good. This would work really well with rice noodles. It’s like a deconstructed spring roll but regular rice worked too. 👌
Who’s interested in compromising taste to cut down on the carbs? Well...certainly NOT ME🙅🏼♀️ and with this cauli 🍕 crust, there’s no need to even consider doing that. This thing is packed with flavor, fiber, and it‘s actually pretty sturdy (unlike a lot of the recipes I’ve tried that tend to fall apart). I felt like a full on pizza chef after making this beauty, and the greatest thing was that it took less than an hour to whip up!❤️
👩🏼🍳So, here’s what you’ll need to get the pizza chef vibes happening in your kitchen:
-5 cups of steamed cauli rice with the liquid squeezed out with a towel
-2.5 tbsp @bobsredmill garbanzo flour
-2 flax eggs (2 tbsp ground flax seed + 6 tbsp of water set in fridge for 10 minutes)
-1.5 tbsp @bragglivefoodproducts nutritional yeast
-1 tbsp minced garlic
-Salt & pepper
🍕Mix together all ingredients, roll and shape onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake on 425* for 30 minutes.
🥫Throw on some @raoshomemade arrabbiata sauce, bell peppers, onion, pear, + a little arugula, nutritional yeast, chili flake, & balsamic to top things off (or any toppings you like), bake for an additional 10 minutes, and your gourmet pizza is served!😍
Happy birthday to our adopted middle child. You’ve been amazing to our (dysfunctional) family in so many ways and we all adore you (Lou and Ace two thumbs up for auntie Jenna!!!)
Now, it’s your night out (dirty thirty) and this mama is here to make sure its as “perfectly odd” as you would ever have hoped. (We are off to a good start!!!)
(And my gawdddd the @lolitabackbay meal just hit da spot !!!!)
Next up— the hunt for a killer live band! Woot woot! Boot scoot. And gentlemen, she’s single!! No need to swipe right , just DM me here for inquiries 💜
My parent made steak, Alsatian (region in France, and heavily influenced by Germany) pasta with margarine and dill, and Normandy vegetables for dinner. I think she added pepper and salt to the steak. I couldn’t tell if there was something more. It was done enough for me, but a little too much for hers. I like it well done. The vegetables are from a frozen mix of carrots, yellow carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. It’s one of our go-to mixes. I don’t have gut issues with it either. Pasta was good, too. #dinner#steak#beef#salt#pepper#pasta#dill#margarine#vegetables#carrots#yellowcarrots#broccoli#cauliflower #🥩 #🍝 #🥦 #🥕
He FINALLY ate cauliflower! It’s only been about 4 years of trying (and hoisin sauce) Super simple, healthy, and surprisingly filling! Chopped some cauliflower and spread it out on a pan with some butter, hoisin, and miso! Finished with more hoisin and lime, voila!
Never stop offering kids the foods they refuse. Serve them in a myriad of ways until you find a successful way. And like my friend Lisa @healthybrightbeginnings says, keep challenging yourself too, don’t get stuck in a rut cooking all the same meals all the time. Buy a new vegetable, or cook a staple dish with new seasonings ;-)

Easy roasted Cauliflower Steak with lots of Indian spices! 💥Made by me. Prep takes ~5 minutes and all you need is cauliflower and your pantry spices.
1 cauliflower sliced lengthwise
1 tbsp olive oil
1-2 tbsp maple syrup
salt & pepper
spices (cumin + cinnamon + cloves / cardamom + ginger + turmeric + paprika + cayenne) - if you’re missing a spice don’t worry about it
Preheat oven to 400F.
Slice cauliflower lengthwise so it creates ~1 inch “steaks”.
Coat both sides with olive oil and maple syrup.
Add salt, pepper & the spice blend until it’s thoroughly coated.
Roast for 25-30 minutes (flip once halfway through). (I made this in my @bravahome oven so it actually took me 12 minutes and no flipping)
Optional - Top with cilantro / coriander if you like it (I know lots of you hate it)
Buffalo Cauliflower Wings! Which would you choose? Cauliflower wings make a great healthier alternative to the traditional chicken wing. Did you know that one fried chicken wing with the skin on can be close to 150 calories and 10g fat per piece?! Cauliflower wings give you the same flavor and a similar crunchy texture, just with less calories and fat! They make a great appetizer for football games as well as holiday parties, too!
1 medium head cauliflower, cut into pieces
1/2 cup flour of choice (I used brown rice flour)
1/3 cup milk of choice- may add more if batter too thick
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cumin
Sea salt and pepper
1/3 cup hot sauce
1 tsp olive oil
Directions: Preheat oven to 450°F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, milk, and spices until thick batter forms. In a separate bowl, mix hot sauce and olive oil, setting aside for later. Place cauliflower into batter and coat. Remove excess batter and place on a greased baking sheet. Place in the oven for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and toss in hot sauce to coat. Place back on baking sheet and cook for another 15-20 minutes until golden. Remove and enjoy!
Serving tip: use @siggisdairy plain and mix in a few bleu cheese crumbles in place of ranch or traditional bleu cheese dressing!
