If I had to choose three pairs of shoes(and don’t make me - if you don’t already know I love shoes - I really, really do love shoes) to wear all the time it would be @glerups_usa wool slippers, ski boots and @llbean boots (or @xtratuffs in the summer) - which would yours be? 👣 #glerups#myglerups

Snowy icy roads make the truck get a little squirrelly! So we bust out the quad and keep on going! #quaddog
Today started with a pretty big reaction after getting stuck between two dogs on the sidewalk.
Today is ending with a happy owner, a tired dog, and baby steps of progress made.
When I got home from work Scout and I trained with her dinner, working on easy behaviors so no one would be frustrated. I needed some positive energy after feeling discouraged this morning!
She wore her muzzle for a long interval and got lots of high value treats. Her tail wagged, my heart rate steadied.
Then we put on our “brave pants” and went to a local pet store armed with a pocket of cheese to work on counterconditioning to her only trigger: other dogs.
We walked near two without any reaction. She focused on me beautifully! Just as I was running out of cheese she let out a bark at one dog who was coming towards us, but I got her to refocus and we avoided a full-blown reaction.
I walked out of that store basically on cloud nine.
Her reactivity stresses me out despite my best attempts to control myself. I find myself feeling like I’ve failed her. But today was encouraging... and that’s all we need, over and over. Baby steps.
