Unser vorläufiges Ziel heißt also nun Lake Tekapo 🏞️
I made this account as a way to put my dream out to the Universe. I’ve been working at funding a wheelchair van for some time. Then getting hit by a car stepped up my need even more. It’s been five months if being stuck and not driving unless absolutely necessary. Even then, it’s so hard that I vow no more. One shoulder sounds like crinkling paper when I move it. The other gives out randomly. -
It’s been lonely, especially since losing my mother to metastatic breast cancer. She was my support system. But I also feel an intense desire to go out and LIVE...like she did when diagnosed years ago. To pursue meaning. I love being a photographer. That I have many images of departed loved ones is a blessing. That’s my thing, photographing animals with terminal illnesses for their humans. Capturing relationships. I’ve been also getting into photographing challenged athletes, surfing, heart-centered brands. All things that I’m drawn to, that resonates and ignites my soul.... So here’s my dream, with getting a Transit with a lift. To do a build out making it an adventure van. My brother, who lives in North Carolina is starting a van conversion biz. So I have an “in” 😉 To be able to roam, and have photo sessions anywhere, pursue adventure with dog. I have my mom’s wanderlust. I feel the clock ticking too. Life is short. My heart is tugged at watching people live the vanlife. Freedom.
Envisioning adventures like Han Solo and Chewie. Just me and my K9 copilot. .

Hello Arizona! This is the city of Sedona, famously known for their red rocks!
Tip: The best way to get to and explore Sedona is by car. Download offline google maps, your favorite playlist/podcast, and take to the open road! It’s only a 2 hour drive from Phoenix.
What adventures we will have in this bus. I get so excited thinking about being together as a family everyday, living a simple, minimal life and exploring nature with our little ones. Dream ~ Believe ~ Take Action

Big Blue in the Big City... I haven’t updated IG for a while now as my life has become average. I try not to be a slave to social media however, when I have nothing interesting to post I do start to worry. If I’m not careful I might end up on Facebook posting statuses like ‘finished work, done the weekly shop, got the kids into bed, it’s wine o’clock!’.... it’s a one way ticket to the life of the dull! I haven’t even been bothered to use my DSLR to take photos or collect footage because a normal life doesn’t merit it. The fact is, I’m keeping my head down and tying up some loose ends before I wave goodbye to the UK. Just 2 weeks to go and I just cannot wait! #vanlife#vanlifediaries#homeiswhereyouparkit#motorhome#campervan
We took a trip to Magnetic Island yesterday, while the van had a routine service. It was just a short 20 min ferry ride from Townsville.
We were blown away by how beautiful Townsville was, let alone this place. There was very little tourism, just lots of low key hikes, koalas, rock wallabies, swimming and snorkling (tried to find a dugong but no luck). You can hire what looks like a retro barbie car and cruise the island for the day for around $50. We had limited time so we just stuck with the island bus which dropped us off to the mains points. If we had more time, we would have taken the van over with us ($180) and camped for a while longer.
Magnetic Island is now on my list of places to live 😍 Once we got back to the mainland we actually researched property prices 😂 'Maggie island' stole a little piece of our hearts

Looking at this picture, I feel a plethora of emotions. My excitement was at an all time high. I had just bought an ambulance. An actual future home. I wanted nothing more than to become fully acquainted with her right away. I did my own conversion not just because it was my best economic choice, but because I wanted my home to be constructed by me, and my loved ones. I certainly didn't do it alone, but I poured my heart and soul into this beautiful, messy ambulance and every night I sleep in here, it feels like this night- the night i just couldnt wait until i had a bed to spend the night. It will always feel like home.
NorCal coast afternoon and evenings. Man this is the life.
I showed up at Wedding Rock just before I was reminded by my friend Jen that we were due for a video chat. So I called her while sitting atop this giant rock with waves crashing below and that cool salt water fresh air whisping through my nose hair's. Nose hair trimmers are intimidating while we're at it. Anyway, after Jen and I caught up (and planned to see one another in January!!!) I explored this beautiful park.
I kept crossing paths with this wonderful Canadian couple. They had the cutest little 4yr old in a ladybug rain coat. I offered to take their photo, and then again when we crossed I offered again. The second time we crossed paths, the wife said to me, "you're like spider man! One second you were up on the rock with us, and then we looked down and you were hopping across the rocks to get onto that rock over the water!"
I had quite literally ran/skipped/hopped my way down the trail because I was so flippin' happy and enjoying the heck out of my day. We chatted and shared travel stories. I got to throw the little girl up in the air a few times, which we both enjoyed a lot. In the end we exchanged contacts, and I now have a new set of friends (and a parking spot in Calgary if I so desire one day!)
This small and beautiful world keeps me going, despite a stressful first week on the job. Nonetheless however, I persevere and look forward to the moments like these today that give me such joy.
Filled with lentils and happiness while sipping mint tea (love this cute little tea pot) and listening to my jazz playlist, Nate.
P.S. - Note the little palm tree like things attached to the rock in the video. They would ge't whipped by the waves and then spring back up, like one of those air filled advertising dummy things, after the water flowed away. Literally made me smile and laugh to myself watching it happen.
I swear we’re making progress... 🤦🏻♂️
Ruby’s evolution has been a slow one. We’ve struggled to find time to really get some solid work done, but we’ll get there!
What you don’t see is that our new backseat is ready to be installed! Yay for back seat drivers! 🤭
We always try to remember not to take ourselves too seriously. Yes life is full things that can be stressful or sad but we are firm believers in keeping a positive and usually silly mindset.
Thank you all for the incredible outpouring of support. We have been blown away by the number of messages we have received.
Have a great Wednesday and remember to laugh today. 😉👍🏻 Ps how do you think the Halloween costumes are coming together? 🐒🐾

A table !!!!! 🍽😛
