Did you know? ........... 💥KNOW - NUTRITION LABELS💥⠀⠀ . Food marketers can be very sneaky, especially when it comes to creating “health halos” 😇 around their products. ⠀ Typically by using phrases such as "natural 🌲," "low fat ⬇️," and "organic 🌏." ⠀ Skinny Pop 🍿 is a perfect example. ⠀ Their goal is that you, the innocent consumer (hi 🙋♂️), will stroll down the grocery isle, see their label with the phrase “only 39 calories per cup!” and assume it's the best choice. ⠀ And of course, they've made sure to write a bunch marketing jargon like "skinny" and "guilt-free" to reinforce your decision... ⠀ Well, no more! From here on out, you’re done falling for those pesky food marketer traps! ⠀ Here’s how… ⠀ First, realize that just because a product may appear like the lowest calorie option, it’s not always the case. ⠀ Take the extra 5 minutes and do a bit of investigating to figure out the actual nutrition info of the product in question and similar products around it 🕵️♀️... ⠀ You wanna pay attention to: ⠀ Total calories ✅ Calories per serving ✅ Servings per container ✅ ⠀ In this scenario, "Skinny Pop" & "Smart Pop" both sound like solid, low-calorie popcorn options. But the Orville Smart Pop turns out to be the most popcorn “bang” for your calorie “buck.”👌 #calories#fit#fitnessgoals#nutrition#focus#backonthesaddle#ican#sunday#nutrition#food#poocorn#knowyourfood#transformation#goals#loseweightnow#tatasjourney #🦋
Is it just for dieting? Absolutely not!! Preparing your food, or at least some of it, ahead of time is a great way to stay on track regardless of your goals. Pretty much every Sunday ends with steak, chicken and potatoes. From there depending on goals there may be some other things added. Sometimes it’s extra protein pancakes for Karey or another vegetable if one of us is dieting. But again regardless of goal, meal prep happens pretty much every week. The hour I spend on this will save me 4-5 hours over the course of the upcoming week. Let’s me honest, who doesn’t want to free up more time??
That yummy taco salad I had for lunch today was sooo good!
My husband is doing cross fit and is trying his hardest to lose weight (which he has) via counting calories! Which I think is inconvienant and maybe one of the worst things you could do to your mind and body. I only say this because I used to do this too. Now if counting calories is your thing, then great! Keep doing it if that's what works for you! But for me..it wasn't. It created a whole unhealthy relationship with food and exercise for me and I do not plan on counting calories ever again and here's why 👇
• I used to stay under 1200 calories, but all those calories were junk food. I never ate veggies or fruit. It was all pasta, rice, and canned meat! But who cared what I was putting into my body if I stayed under calories? I didn't.
•I used to take my time to weigh food! Talk about a complete time suck. Not only that! I used to take time to search for the foods in my *insert calorie counting app* and calculate all that food. It was draining! And made me focus on the numbers. I even denied good food because I already "reached my calorie intake for the day" says *insert calorie counting app*
•working out every day wasn't for me to feel good, but because an app on my phone told me if I worked out really hard, I could eat more. Which again, I did. I worked out hard so I could eat even more crap food. At the time, I thought that was normal. THAT IS NOT NORMAL. THAT KIND OF THINKING IS NOT HEALTHY.
All I'm saying is that if this is you..and if you want to find a better way where you don't count calories, you're not obsessing over numbers and how many minutes you worked out so you can eat more, if you want to save time, and actually eat the stuff that's not only good for you but tastes good! Message me! Let's talk. My whole relationship with food and working out has changed because I learned how and what to eat based off my goals. And I was surprised how EASY it was! Please please please, message Me! I have so much I want to share with you.
Full disclosure, today was not a good day, and I actually managed to eat over 4000 calories. I have a binge eating disorder that gets triggered by the smallest things, and honestly, I still feel like I want to/can eat more. When I binge eat, I really have no breaks and don't realize what I've eaten until literally everything is gone. One of the reasons I'm trying keto is because I really want to learn to control my binge eating. I'm not going to try to fast it out this time. I'll just try to eat normally, and maybe I'll be able to better control/prevent future binges that way? At least I weigh less than I did my last binge...5 days ago.....and three days in a row two days before that.... 🙃🙃🙃🙃 I'm trying really hard to stay accountable, so to that end, I'll start posting whenever I fall off the wagon

This place has always been known for it's dumplings and for good reason. The Truffle Oil certainly adds a nice touch to it!

Fancy a drink?
Because this drink is about as fancy as it can get and the best part is, it tastes better than it looks!

Peanut butter or Nutella? 🤤🥜🍫
TEAM PEANUT BUTTER OR NUTELLA? 🍫🥜
Happy Sunday 💛 If you had a choice between the two spreads, which one would you go for? -
I’m a diehard crunchy peanut butter fan 😋 not only because it’s significantly more nutritious but also because I just love nuts! I do enjoy Nutella from time to time in moderation but the high sugar content keeps me away. 🙊 -
My tip is to use Ezekiel bread which is low in calories & delicious and use a tablespoon measurement to portion control. Let me know which side you’re on! 😈 ⤵️⤵️⤵️
Foods that make you fat. It is important to understand that calories are king when it comes to body composition changes. Weight/fat gain occurs when we eat more calories than our bodies require. Calorie balance is the ratio of the calories we consume and the calories we expend throughout our daily lives. It is the most important factor to consider when making a body composition change. .
It is 100% possible to lose weight eating nothing but cake but that doesn’t mean it is healthiest. Body composition changes and optimal health are not one in the same. For people who are very overweight, achieving proper calorie balance alone will likely make you healthier. This picture shows that it’s not the type of food that makes you fat it is the calorie content over a period of time. Yes it is easier to eat more calories while consuming bacon than it is vegetables but it is still theoretically possible to gain weight from overeating vegetables (evenly though it’s practically impossible).
