PROJECT DANCE CALGARY
We want to spread the inspiration of Project Dance® beyond our city!
A close friend of ours is a missionary in Haiti - spreading joy and love through dance workshops and camps.
During our Calgary event (July 6-8) we will be accepting donations - clothing items and cash - should you feel led to give. They would be thrilled for any contributions you can manage!
Here is an excerpt from our friend, explaining their work and needs:
In the central plateau of Haiti, in a prominent city called Hinche, two separate dance groups each meet twice a week for Christian dance classes. The two groups, called “Glory Dance” (located in the heart of the city) and “Victory Dance” (located on the outskirts), have approx. 15 dancers each. This number is growing monthly, with a waiting list. The Haitian people are anointed and naturally talented for the arts, specifically music and dance. These classes provide an outlet for them to awaken and strengthen their gifts, as well as grow in confidence, character, and spiritual maturity. Dance classes are very rare in Haiti, and dance studios are almost non-existent. One of the biggest challenges we face is finding dance attire in Haiti at affordable pricing.
We are in need of leggings (short and long), dance skirts, basketball shorts, sports bras, undershirts, and t-shirts suitable for a dance class (sizes Adult XS, S, M, L). If you would prefer to give a donation towards postage and/or new items, cash donations will be accepted during our Friday Check-in and Sunday Master Dance Classes.
