A new feathered friend, Little Pie. It has the sweetest nature! It’s been visiting for the past six weeks or so...it’s juvenile colouring is changing now from grey to white and deep black. Often turning up dishevelled after being attacked by other birds (namely, magpies & crows) who try to prevent it from feeding in this territory. I’m pleased, at least, it finds shelter on my veranda 💖 I’ve been feeding it just a little to keep its strength up & I’m happy to see it finding its own grubs and worms now...(though, it does so incredibly cautiously...looking up to the sky and flinching even if a finch flies by. Poor Little Pie!) •
ⓌⓇⒺⒶⓉⒽⓈ have much history and symbolism associated with them. Whether it be a colorful one or a simple, natural understated one...they always give a warming welcome when walking into someone’s home...including our own. It’s circular shape represents eternity, for it has no beginning and no end. The evergreen...as it endures the harshest of winters..symbolizes strength, growth, and everlasting life.
Our wreath (one of two)...is finally complete. First time to create one from scratch. It was inspired by all our beautiful evergreens that surround us. It would be a crime to buy a fake one or even buy a real one...when we have this beautiful resource just outside our door. As for time to create one...it took a total of about three hours...working on it in little increments after work. So fun and rewarding...now to make another one for the other side of the barn doors!↟
Editing engagements, planning exciting adventure collabs, and getting ready for the holidays this evening! And somehow I still have yet to have a glass of egg nog this season... this is so unlike me. I’ll get a Costco pack to make up for it 🤷🏼♀️
Was out exploring around a few weeks back and come across this wall tent in the heart of the Alaska range! I always love random finds like these! Also would like to say thank you for all the support on my photos it has been unreal!

About to sink into my “mama chair” with my yarn 🧶 & hook & work on this pattern I’m determined to write . It’s been a long rainy muddy messy weekend & our little hollow is all but flooded out . It’s been yucky & everything but pretty...but if there is one thing i have learned over the last year , it is this.
Homesteading isn’t easy. Ever .
It’s messy . It’s hard . There is always . Always. Always work to be done & most often, things do not turn out like your wildest dreams of a picture perfect life.... BUT>> I wouldn’t trade this life for anything . It is freedom & it is peace. And those are two things that all the riches in the world can’t bring . >> btw this is my reminder to myself on days like today when I get overwhelmed with the beautiful nicely put together squares on this app (my second home ) & Although I love it here and you lovelies inspire me so much ... it is so easy to get swept away at times, into the sea of wishful thinking . You know . What if mine was like this . What If i had that . What if our homestead was as nice as theirs ....y’all know what I’m talking about . We all do it .& we just have to be reminded that God has us in our walk. In our season. In our journey ... for his purpose and his alone . And no matter how much we are inspired by someone else. Their journey is theirs and ours is ours & at the end of the day , that is okay !! & God can and will teach us valuable lessons on even the hardest , muddiest , most overwhelming days . & today , I’m thankful for my little cabin in the hollow . It is a messy long journey .... but it is mine 🕯☕️🧺🙏🏻💕 now, time for coffee / yarn/ & a good faith filled movie 🎥☕️🧶 #shilohhousehomestead#cabinlife#offgrid#thankful#freedom#debtfree#homesteadersofinstagram#simplelife
