We've always lived by the mantra that it's never too early to take the kiddos on an adventure. Meadow's first canoe ride took us through a Florida swamp paddling by more than a few gators. Theo was spared the alligators, but at about the same age he sat on @mrsalleycat's lap and napped in the hull as we paddled through the Boundary Waters. This wasn't our first time paddling the BWCA, but it was totally different experience at the end of Gunflint Trail.
“Over the hill??”
Happy 40th birthday to our beloved BWCA! President Carter signed the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Act 40 years ago today, and we are so thankful for this gift! How will you celebrate the wilderness today?
Had great fun for the past several days. Paddled to some new lakes, introduced some first timers to the BWCA. Got just enough snow to make the landscape even more magical. #bwca#gunflinttrail#newfriendships
The BWCA in October is unparalleled. Leaves fill the forest with radiant hues of yellows and reds, the weather is as varied as the terrain, and the wilderness is only occupied by the hardiest of souls who refuse to admit that another season of paddling will soon be behind them... ROUTE: Nina Moose River > Nina Moose Lake > Lake Agnes > Lac La Croix > Ge-Be-On-E-Quet Lake > Green Lake > Rocky Lake > Oyster Lake > Oyster River > Nina Moose River > Nina Moose Lake > Nina Moose River #bwca#canoecountry#savethebwca#exploreMN
The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Quilt for my full-of-life Sister Cousin Heather! Generous, joyful, brilliant and efficient this woman knows how to make things happen and how to keep the fun going! Thank you for all of our fun paddling trips and life adventures @byekoh11 ! Love you, Cuzy! 🛶 #gratitudequilts#bwca
Changing seasons in the BWCA. Even with a bit of snow already on the ground, this weekend was the perfect time to get to hike along the Border Route Trail, stopping to admire golden leaves and misty lakes. Thanks @humbleapparelco for the sweet shirts from one of my favorite places in MN.
