The Atlas moth is considered among the largest moths in the world. In Cantonese their name translates as 'Snake's Head Moth', looking at the tips of it's wings you can see why. The Moths are unsteady fliers. Females do not stray far from the location of her discarded cocoon, she perches on a near by branch where air currents carry her pheromones away for the males to detect from as far as several miles.
