One of the best parts of content writing is listening to the needs and wants of my clients and fulfilling them. Writing words for them that sells means everything to me. What also matters most is building beautiful business relationships that has potential to last a lifetime.
Mr. Chinedu owns a successful motor spare parts business in main market Onitsha. He's 58 years old, no formal education, and has been in the business for 30 years. He's settled over 40 apprentices, has 5 branches within Onitsha and Anambra state, and 7 outside Anambra state. He's business is very profitable.
Note that even though circumstances may be different from modern day entrepreneurs, the fundamentals of sustainable growth remains the same.
1. A Strong Purpose: Mr. Chinedu during his apprentice days, desired to do things different. He always envisioned being able to provide strictly original parts, and have a workplace where everyone is happy working. When he eventually had his business, that's exactly what it reflected. An authentic purpose gives rise to it's USP. It allows for:.
1. Constant and consistent sense of purpose.
2. A strong emotional engagement with customers and employees.
2. A Powerful Brand: Mr. Chinedu understands that building a business that will sell his market very well, means he has to build emotional connection with customers. Hence, his values and personality reflects on the business. People love what him and his business represents. Some basic rules to connect, shape, influence, and lead with your products and brands are:.
1. Chose your target audience.
2. Connect with the public.
No marketing plan can rescue a brand whose identity isn't fully formed.
To be continued.

Your expenses can go a long way to influence whether you are profitable or not. If you are in control of your expenses and bench marking it against your profit target, you are one step closer to building a sustainable businesses.
So here are some tips on how to take charge of your expenses:
1. Keep track of your expenses, every single one of them no matter how big or small.
Record what led to this expense being incurred, how much was incurred and how payment for this was made You will be able to create a system for your expenses when you know where money is coming in from and where it is going to.
2. Take note of your recurrent expenses.
Re-access your re-current expenses and re-choose only the appropriate ones.
3. If an expense is not necessarily improving or business process or creating more income, then it needs to go. Starting with that uncle’s brother’s cousin whom you had to employ and pay a salary, but you cannot exactly say what tangible contribution he is making to your business.

What is your company’s competitive advantage? “It’s a simple question but a difficult one to answer. And it’s getting more difficult to answer by the day. Building a competitive advantage in today’s hypercompetitive world is elusive.“ “Size and mass are a path to a sustainable competitive advantage. Yet even mass is eroding as a competitive advantage. Digital disruption is happening to all companies, big and small. Even the global giants in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space face challenges from upstart competitors. Direct to consumers (D2C) companies — a whole new wave of businesses — are emerging as big disrupters in the CPG sector.” ~ Kevin Bobowski, MarTech Today “The One Martech Metric That Really Matters: Customer Lifetime Value”

There's enough KPIs in place to stop my staff getting their full commission as it is, then John pipes up with "I've got loads of word of mouth referrals on going but I haven't reported them on my sales report or pipeline as they're very hard to quantify".
. "Wtf? Word of Mouth isn't a KPI on our whiteboard, John" I screamed. "Excuses. Excuses. Excuses. That's your bonus accelerator missed this month, John..." .
No forward thinking, entrepreneurial, millennial business leader like @mikewinnet
cares about word of mouth or building long term relationships. .
I want; cold calls, talk time, appointments booked, proposals sent - REAL KPIs that I can punish the sales team with if they fail to hit them.

#Shoutout to all of you!
When you try to recreate Meghan Markle’s royal wedding picture but he can’t help but go for a squeeze.
I wanna say he “ruined” the picture but the truth is, #thisisus. 😏
I know I said I’d share more tips on how to work with your partner to build your empire. I’d be lying if I said I had it all figured out. This shit is challenging.
But one thing I know for sure is communication is everything. Be assertive with what you want but understanding with what they need. None of that passive aggressive stuff.
I’m currently reading @elenacardone‘s Build An Empire and I’m hooked. My fav quote from her will always be “You’re either building an empire or destroying one.” It’s that simple.
Get on the same page as your boo. Build something bigger than the both of you. Give 100/100 to the relationship. Oh and don’t forget to actually love them once and a while. 😉
Would love your advice and tips! I’d much rather learn from your lessons than the hard way 🙈
