When building our house my dear friend who helped me design the bones of it said “you can go cheap on anything but the lighting. The lighting has to make an impact.” Trusting her and knowing that I wanted timeless > trendy, I meticulously picked out these lanterns from @lanternandscroll. Because I lived in Charlotte near their store, the owner kindly allowed me to borrow several samples, drive them down to my new build in Florida to determine which style and size suited my home the best. I couldn’t be happier with what we chose and love knowing we have the most beautiful, timeless eye-catching outdoor lanterns on our beloved house! It’s all in the details #amiright
It’s Sunday which means BACON SARNIES 😋 Who else is excited for the finale of The Bodyguard tonight? 🙋♀️let’s hope it’s good. Quite a few people have asked about the capping we’ve used on the house. It’s galvanised steel and colour matched with our aluminium windows and doors. The bolts will been painted to match the RAL 7016 colour as well. It hides all our guttering and makes the house look really smart I think. It’s a much cheaper aluminium alternative! Once the shingle has been laid, the bricks will be acid washed and the wood cleaned.
So glad the weekend is here!!
We got our wood stove in and my husband is already wishing he went with a bigger one. I’m trying to talk him into doing the German smear technique on the brick behind it. When I showed him a picture, he said that he didn’t want it to look like Christmas all year long! 🤷🏻♀️So if you’ve done this technique, send me your tips! What do you think? To smear or not to smear???
