“To think deep and with full attention is unusual in our times. Different thoughts surge from the intellectual center, not from a permanent “I”, but from the different “I’s” in each of us. When a person is thinking, they firmly believe that they are the one who is thinking. But through self-observation, we can realize that the multiple thoughts that cross our mind have their origin in the different “I’s” which we carry within.
This signifies that we are not true thinking individuals. Indeed, we do not yet have an individual mind. What actually happens is that each one of the different “I’s” that we carry within utilizes our intellectual center. At any time, and as often as possible, each of them utilizes the intellectual center in order to think. Therefore, to identify ourselves with this or that negative and harmful thought, believing it to be our particular property, is absurd. Obviously, this or that negative thought comes from any “I” that, in a given moment, has abusively used our Intellectual Center. Different types of negative thoughts exist, namely: suspicion, distrust, ill-will towards another person, passionate jealousy, religious jealousy, political jealousy, family or friendship jealousy, covetousness, lust, revenge, anger, pride, envy, hatred, resentment, theft, adultery, laziness, gluttony, etc. Since it is impossible for an effect to exist without a cause, we can say that a thought could never exist by itself, by spontaneous generation… The relationship between the thinker and the thought is obvious. Each negative thought has its origin in a different thinker. Many negative thinkers exist within each one of us. Examining this subject matter from the angle of “thinkers and thoughts,” it is understood then that each one of the “I’s” that we carry within is certainly a different thinker. Nonetheless, each one of these inner-thinkers believes itself to be the whole, at any given moment…
It may be difficult to accept the thesis of the “Plurality of Thinkers” because our perspective of ourselves would have to dramatically change. How can we accept the idea that we do not possess an individual mind? Through self-observation we can see this for ourselves.
✨IS IT OKAY TO LAY DOWN WHILE MEDITATING?✨ Upright sitting while meditating is harder than it sounds at first. It requires strength in certain abdomen, arm and leg muscles to stay sitting tall. Back and leg pain can get pretty bad the longer you sit due to lactic buildup from lack of movement and lack of blood flow. You can sit on pillows, use a kneeling bench, a meditation cushion, or a chair and still most people will have some or a lot of pain when performing sitting meditation. So it makes sense for an untrained person to try laying down and continuing their practice. But is this the correct way to practice? Is there a correct way?
Lady Gaga taught a laying down guided meditation on social media, is that still meditation?
Well, it is and it isn’t.
And it depends on 1. Why you are practicing which leads to the second factor 2. If you are following a path.
What many people miss from Buddhism is that Buddha was teaching a clear path to enlightenment after he found this path by practicing in a very specific way. There were many practices he performed that he taught were essential in his enlightenment and he taught these for the 45 years from his enlightenment to his death.
So his teachings weren’t of “reducing stress at work” or “relieving a migraine” or even “meditation to relieve anger” which something like meditation while laying down may or may no do.
His practices were meant to help people be come free of their suffering, or enlightened.
So meditation while laying down isn’t wrong in any way if you don’t have any guidelines your practicing by. So long as you have a positive intention for why you are doing it.
However, it is seen as very disrespectful to lay down in a Buddhist Theravada monastery - because this is not the teaching of a Buddhist Theravada monastery. (This is the only path I’m very familiar with so I don’t know about other Buddhist path teachings)
So what it comes down to really, is what are you after? Are you practicing for enlightenment or another reason? Comment below if you want to share something about your practice😊Sorry for not posting in a while!! I’ve had a few busy weeks at work hopefully I’ll post again soon though.

Buddha said if humans are not greedy and willing to share the wealth with their family and the poor, the givers will gain five benefits. Which five? Increase in wealth. People will honour you. You will be respected by your country. Reborn as a God at God realm. Respect by everyone as a wealthy people when reborn from the God realm.
Sometimes we are so busy chasing all the things we haven’t got that we forget to notice the things we already have, the people in our lives and the fortunate circumstances in which we live in. 💫
The Master keeps her mind
always at one with the Tao;
that is what gives her her radiance.
The Tao is ungraspable.
How can her mind be at one with it?
Because she doesn't cling to ideas.
The Tao is dark and unfathomable.
How can it make her radiant?
Because she lets it.
Since before time and space were,
the Tao is.
It is beyond is and is not.
How do I know this is true?
I look inside myself and see - Lao Tzu.
From the Tao Te Ching as translated by Stephen Mitchell.

🇬🇧I think this is something beautiful! This colossal stone statue is The Leshan Giant Buddha and it is 71-metre tall. It was built during the Tang Dynasty in order to celebrate the Buddha Maitreya and it is carved out of a cliff face. It is the largest stone Buddha and also the tallest pre-modern statue in the world! 🏛🗿•
