“Be brave, stand tall and still in the whirlwind. Your calmness will show you the way” - Andrea, The Enlightened Culinist —————
I can’t quiet say I’ve been feeling in a whirlwind this month, maybe more like a homemade whirlpool by my boys in our pool. You know, just enough to keep you circling afloat but still able to climb the ladder to get out. ————-
Rinse and repeat that cycle for the past three weeks. HOLD ON though, here’s the positive, yes I will always find the positive, even though I’m struggling to get my groove back from professional, personal and physical wackiness in trying to reach new beginnings, my mindset has not wavered. I keep getting up, starting over and trying it again differently the next time. ———-
Where once I would beat myself up about my choices or lack of, I can proudly say that’s not gonna happen. Here’s the best part...I haven’t lost a damn thing, just gained a new perspectives.
Dinner tonight, #paleo stuffed artichokes, puttanesca style. Capers, olives, ground turkey with a garlic, anchovy and dice tomato sauce. Swipe left you’re gonna want to see the close up.

”I will never quit. My nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight.”
-Marcus Luttrell, Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10
Now I haven’t read the book yet but the movie guys if you want to see real heroism please watch Lone survivor or even better read the book, i have decided when I finish my current read! That I will pick up Lone Survivor! .
The movie left me speechless and feeling all sorts of emotions, what these brave men did for our country, the sacrifices they have made will never be forgotten! THANK YOU TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY EVERYDAY! .
Here is the synopsis so you guys can decide if it is a book you would want to read! .
On a clear night in late June 2005, four U.S. Navy SEALs left their base in northern Afghanistan for the mountainous Pakistani border. Their mission was to capture or kill a notorious al Qaeda leader known to be ensconced in a Taliban stronghold surrounded by a small but heavily armed force. Less then twenty-four hours later, only one of those Navy SEALs remained alive.
This is the story of fire team leader Marcus Luttrell, the sole survivor of Operation Redwing, and the desperate battle in the mountains that led, ultimately, to the largest loss of life in Navy SEAL history. But it is also, more than anything, the story of his teammates, who fought ferociously beside him until he was the last one left. Luttrell recalls their valiant efforts in one of the most powerful narratives ever written about modern warfare —a stirring tribute to his teammates who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
I do hope everyone has had a great day! I started school yesterday woo hoo! .

Stuart S. Stryker
During Operation Varsity on March 24, 1945, Stryker's company attacked a strongly defended building near Wesel, Germany. When a platoon tasked with making a frontal assault became pinned down by intense fire, Stryker voluntarily ran to the head of the unit, called for the soldiers to follow him, and charged the German position. He was killed by hostile fire 25 yards from the building. His attack provided a diversion which allowed other elements of Company E to take the position, capturing over 200 soldiers and freeing three American airmen held as prisoners by the Germans. For these actions, Stryker was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor nine months later, on December 11, 1945.

Nature has always always had more to say to me than I give credit for
I’ve been exploring loneliness this week as I write my next blog post, ‘The Lonely Diplomat: on loneliness’.
Loneliness is everywhere, apparently. But no one seems to want to say that they feel lonely sometimes, often or all the time. Why is that?
Loneliness is a curious feeling. For me, it didn’t feel like when I was a kid and there was no one around to play. It felt like I was wearing a mask of humour and unfailing competence and the world only knew me through the masks. .
I desperately bargained within myself to be anything but lonely. I was terrified. I knew I had to do something when I realised that there were days when no one, NO ONE, asked me how I was. My masks were extremely effective and I simply didn’t give anyone cause to ask. .
It's my favourite question to ask and answer now!
Could you be feeling lonely in some part of your life? .
Be sure to subscribe at www.thelonelydiplomat.com (link in bio) so you don’t miss it on Sunday 20/1. .
This is the shortest my hair has been in 30years... I’m almost 2 years postpartum with my 3rd son. The ends of my long locks were wispy at best. It was time for a clean up and time to give my hair a chance to grow strong and long again!
I’ll be taking some extra #mineralessence for the unforeseen future!
“While walking across the Manhattan Bridge, Sergeant Hart found himself jumping into action when he saw a troubled 13 year old contemplating taking his own life. Sergeant Hart previously served in our elite Emergency Service Unit and knew exactly what to do when he saw the distraught child on the ledge of the bridge. He quickly climbed over the security gate, grabbed the child, and brought him back to safe ground. Sergeant Hart stayed with the child and spoke with him until Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene. The child was then taken to the hospital to receive treatment.”

Sweet taste of irony dripping off my lips
I know who you desire
Now I am the one you desire
As I take what is mine
Walking through my glorious flames
Hate fuelling and stoking the wickedness
Flame ablaze in the amber of my eyes
My head tilts back as I laugh;
So sweet and sticky it leaves a taste
On my tongue of the lust for my revenge
I see your secrets and taste your lies
I stand alone in my castle for one
Watching your land burn
For this is my desire
Mike Gillespie Launches Brave Artists Talent Management Company
#Brave Artists Management #Breaking News #Mike Gillespie
Talent manager Mike Gillespie, most recently at Primary Wave Entertainment, has launched his own talent management company, Brave Artists Management. “After 12 years in Los Angeles, I’m very proud to start my own company,” said Gillespie. “I’m very fortunate to have amazing clients that understand my passion for this industry and with hard work and determination we will find success in this next chapter. I’m also very grateful for all the mentors I’ve had, what I’ve learned and how they continue to encourage me.” Gillespie began his career in publicity at The Jim Henson Company and segued to talent representation with a move to UTA where he worked for five years, starting in the mailroom and working his up to talent agent. He then made the choice to switch to management and was instrumental in launching Intellectual Artist Management, along with Partners David Guillod and Jeff Morrone. The company subsequently merged with Primary Wave Music and Marg Burg’s Company Evolution to form Primary Wave Entertainment. Primary Wave last year scaled back on Hollywood representation to focus on its core music management business, leading to an exodus of talent managers, including Morrone, who joined Atlas Artists. Gillespie’s clients include Anne Winters (Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, ABC’s Grand Hotel, Universal’s Night School), Emma Kenney (Showtime’s Shameless, ABC’s The Conners), Bob Morley (CW’s The 100), Tasya Teles (CW’s The 100), Heather Hemmens (CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, OWN’s If Loving You Is Wrong), Sierra Capri (Netflix’s On My Block), Brett Gray (Netflix’s On My Block), Frankie Adams (Amazon’s The Expanse), Abigail Hardingham (Netflix’s The Innocents) & Rahart Adams (YouTube Red’s Foursome), Zach McGowan (Starz’s Black Sails), Madeleine Arthur (Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Love Before), Anna Hutchison (Starz’s Spartacus, Cabin in the Woods) and Amanda Jane Cooper (Broadway’s Wicked).
