The first day of summer, and it rains all damn day.
Well fine. @drawlchicago and @buffalotrace have the Alderman's back.
This cozy, Southern charm in Lincoln Park provides the perfect atmosphere to grab a quiet drink in their beautiful, dimly lit bar. They boast a handsome selection of whiskies, and their mixologists make lovely cocktails, but your Alderman settled in with the whiskey neat. I enjoy simple done slowly.
I drank my dinner tonight despite many tempting dishes passing by, but I shall definitely return with my own Southern belle & Chief of Staff for a she crab soup and chicken fried steak brunch. With a whiskey, of course.

There have been a number of variations on the Fogcutter over the years but we're stoked on @craftandcocktails version! 🥝
1 1/2 oz. aged rum
1 oz lemon
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz orange juice
1 oz. orgeat
1 oz. brandy
1/2 oz. gin
1/2 oz cream sherry
Shake, strain, serve in over-the-top Nautilus tiki bowl!

2 oz Grander Rum 8yr
1 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
2 dash Angostura bitters
Splash of Grenadine
Add all ingredients into cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed, then garnish with cherry.
