I had a short reading slump after reading “The Hating Game”. So obviously, I just watched booktube and I saw @emmmabooks place this book in her favourites of 2018, so I just had to read it.
I found the story really interesting, because I’ve never read a Christmas-y YA book before. Holly was an ok protagonist, and her story was cool to read about. As much as I enjoyed the story, I didn’t find it as good as I thought it would be. I wish the story developed more on the side characters so the ending would be more impactful. It wasn’t the best book I’ve read, but it’s not the worst either. 3/5 stars #PaperlessReader

many hopes and dreams sleeping in blood puddles.
no mastermind to call the play;
no quarterback to save the day.
walking around in trances,
unwilling to take chances..
the wrong move could mean we don't eat the next day.
my culture was left to the vultures.
they grind us up for crust,
bake our bodies then masquerade "In God We Trust." but trust this.. if you eat me,
i'll poison you from the inside.
i move like i have lion pride,
while my ego remains atom size.. the basis of all being,
it's everywhere.. yet you don't see it.
you talk a mouthful but you won't want to eat this,
history will repeat this.
with every moment being history,
i repeat this.
i will never die.
I Will Never Die.
kill my body i've already sparked the next mind.
they left my culture to the vultures.
capitalistic but maybe not to their own falter,
they probably had something to prove to their own fathers.. but now we lay as sacrificial lambs at the altar.
where are we?
why do we lie here to be eaten?
the whips have been ripped apart,
yet i still feel beaten.. you don't know what you don't know,
but if you don't know your history,
they'll repeat it.
like it's a new secret with a new twist.
so i'm not sure what to recommend you,
but this just in.. we're all still on the menu.
so either we learn to cook,
or be another burned history book.
they left our culture to the vultures.. i hope i'm not the only eagle.
Welp. Sunday’s video is probably not going up today. This football game is currently a nail biter. Also, yes, my Christmas tree is still up. I’ve been busy. 🤷🏼♀️ #kcchiefs#afcplayoffs#booktube#booktuber
So this is the first true bookshelf I’ve had since I’ve started Booktube like FIVE years ago!!! These aren’t all of my books, I need another shelf, and I don’t know if this shelf will stay organized like this (I’ve already arranged one), but for right now, I’m soo happy with it. Two of these rows are TBR shelves - I haven’t read the books on them yet! Do you see any faves? 💕📚 #shelfie#shelfiesunday

Now, slightly back to the real world for me 🤧🤧🤧 I have to get back to trying to graduate from film school and beginning my film career.

#MeettheBookstagrammer 🙎🏼♀️ Hello there, it's your girl, Ashley, coming at you with the best books I can lay my hands on! 📖
I've been a book lover all of my life. To this day, I still fall asleep on my books (it was pretty common for me as a kid). While I grew up in Pittsburgh, I have been living in #MadisonIN for over three years, which honestly feels like a lifetime 🤷🏼♀️ My fiance, Tim, and I have been together for just over 4 years and we are getting married this summer. He is the most awesome person I know. We also have the sweetest and goofiest dog, who you've probably seen in my posts, named Oliver, @olivertheboxador 🐾
I work full-time in digital marketing and higher education, and teach introductory communication classes on the side at the local community college. Even though it is my day job, I love social media and photography a whole heck of a lot, which is why I'm glad #Bookstagram and #Booktube exist. Books have always been my solace and I am thankful I can easily share my love for books, connect with other book lovers, and create content that matters to me here and on my blog 📸
I may not be the most popular account, or a 100% bookstagrammer because I love to share about food and beer and my dog just as much, but I enjoy this space and hope you find joy in it too 🙂 thanks for following me and being with me every day! ▪ #ilovereading#ilovebooks#bibliophile#girlswhoread#womenwhoread#bookish#booksbooksbooks#alwaysreading#becauseofreading#bookreviewer#humansofbookstagram#bookstagrammer
I’m Anna Francesca. I’m not new to #bookstagram but I’ve honestly been feeling quite deflated about my #feed and presence here that I decided to try something #new. So I’m going to reintroduce myself.
My love for #music is something I found first in my #life - this love runs deep. Then in 2013 I was diagnosed with #fibromyalgia after years of unexplained #pain and #ibs quickly followed. Talking about #health is now very important to me and #chronicillness is part of who I am. Yes, I’m #disabled but I’m so much more than a label. My health allowed me to rediscover the love of #reading something I found in my teens. I love #books and everything about them. So much so that on the 19th May I started a #booktube channel, something I am so proud of. I saw my unused Instagram account as a chance to join the bookstagram community and so here I am.
This feed will hopefully be filled with books, music and more. Pictures might be shared again and some may disappear. All I know is that I want to start afresh and explore my new found love of #photography. Thank you for reading!
I reorganized my shelves recently and I uploaded a video of my process on my channel! Link is in my bio 😊 I’m really happy with the finished product!
#qotp: How do you organize your shelves?
#aotp: By whatever looks good 😂
Et vous, que lisez-vous? 🍃

hi loves, it’s been a minute but I hope you’re all doing well and your 2019 has been treating you well ✨ my year has pretty much all over the place so far but things are looking up for me and I’m very excited. something I’m definitely looking forward to for this year is bookcon and I get to see my friends again, I’m buying my tickets this week and excited is an understatement 🌹 my first day of my last semester at my college is in 2 weeks and then I graduate with my associates, then I’m transferring to a school in Boston (undecided) to get my bachelors in English and design✨ things will no doubt get overwhelming but I know I’ll get through them 👌🏻 #bookstagram#currentlyreading#bookishfeatures#goodreads#reading#booktube#bookish#booklover
