Toning tip: -
Depending on how warm your clients hair is you may want to pre tone! -
What is a pre toner? It is a toner (or purple shampoo) to cancel out the warmth BEFORE your actual toner! -
In this case I decided to tone first because her hair when lifted was not super warm and after I toned it I decided it need just a little kick to where I wanted it to be! - @abbeybrookee used all @framar tools💖⚒

Do ash tones even exist outside of Instagram? 😂 Just kidding. But seriously. I’ve been loving these posts other stylists have been making lately regarding the issue so I decided to jump on the wagon.
We live in a digital age where almost anyone can figure out how to manipulate images like this. Why is it hurtful to our industry? Because it sets us up for utter failure. My client is a natural level 3 and in order to reflect the tones of the edited picture, she would probably end up a damaged mess.
Coarse dark hair will never blonde like fine medium hair. But now that my client is in my chair showing me a photoshopped picture, I feel pressured to deliver unrealistic results(although I’m pretty good at telling clients it’s not gonna happen). Not only will you NOT be able to recreate YOUR own “work”, but think of the other stylists across state lines being shown your fabricated image and sweating bullets trying to be like you. Wondering why they aren’t as “good” as you. It’s just not cool. We wonder why clients have these huge expectations and don’t realize the problem starts with US. So don’t photoshop your pictures and educate your clients 🙌🏻 Also, have a great week 😍 #thestruggleisreal
