· M a g i c · of · P l a n t s · "The earth like a giant receptor or radio station, inhales and exhales stellar and cosmic forces, the absorbed essence of which grows and unfolds as life. These forces are not all material, but include subtle energies of a spiritual nature. Plants transmit the vital-emotional impulses, the life-force that is hidden in light. That is the gift, the grace, and the power of plants. ·
Plants bring us the love, the nourishing power of the sun, which is the same energy of all stars, of all light. These cosmic energies emanated by plants thus nourish, sustain and make grow our astral bodies. In this way, the existence of plants is a great offering, a sacrifice. They offer us not only their nutritive value but the very love and light from the stars, from the cosmos whose messengers they are. They bring us the universal light. They exist for physical as well as psychological nourishment. Our feelings, then, are our own inner plants. Our own inner flowers. They grow in accordance with our perception of the nature of all life. " - From 'the Yoga of Herbs, An Ayurvedic Guide to Herbal Medicine' ·
That passage always gets me. The plants are such great teachers, healers and friends. Teaching us languages we forgot how to speak. ✨ The photo is of Mullein, Black eyed Susans, Queen Annes Lace and Aster found growing in Dartmouth while I was passing through a few weeks ago. I have met these plants in 3 different provinces so far.. Seeing them that day really was like seeing old friends. 🌿✨ #PowerofPlants
30 day painting challenge day 12. Trying to get somewhat caught up! Day 12: Paint a flower with a pallet knife. On one hand, I’m pleased that I actually owned pallet knives. On the other hand, it’s fairly obvious I had no idea what I was doing LOL However, I kind of like them! They were modeled after Black eyed Susan’s, which remind me of my mom. Been missing her...so that was nice.
Working two jobs can really take it out of someone! I have so much respect for those of you who work two full-times. I can’t imagine doing this for the long term. For the past couple of months, I have been opening a cafe and closing a marijuana dispensary. I’ve been working 6am-12am, 6 days a week (explains the lengthy IG hiatus, right?) I wouldn’t change it. However, I’m glad that this is my last week at the cafe, so I can focus more on my work at Higher Leaf. ☘️ I’ve been sick for the last four days, and calling off of both jobs has had my anxiety running wild. I’ve always said that I’d rather go to work sick than have to call out, because it makes me so anxious. It’s nearly a phobia. But, sometimes there’s no other choice! I’ve been using CBD cartridges to soothe my anxiety while I’m sick. What gives you anxiety? How do you deal with it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #blackeyedsusan#wildflowers#pnw#nature#seattlephotographer#cbd#illness#naturephotography#anxiety#work#lifestyle#changes#movingforward#seattlite#ellensburg#washington#upperleftusa#easternwa#centralwa#cwu#weed#marijuana#flowers#bloom#fall#happyfall
“The flower that wilted last year is gone. Petals once fallen are fallen forever. Flowers do not return in the spring, rather they are replaced. It is in this difference between returned and replaced that the price of renewal is paid.
And as it is for spring flowers,
so it is for us.”
