Geese on a journey during twilight 🖤✨ I was in pure awe of the peaceful scenery, this evening at twilight. I patiently waited and listened for the song of the geese. Only moments followed and a flock of Canada Geese flew over the silhouetted treetop.
The sharp-shinned hawk (Accipiter striatus) is one of the smallest around, and it's well-equipped for life in the deep forest. With its long tail and compact size, it's made for speed. Breakneck speed. Literally...as it crashes into its songbird and mouse prey. And while it is typically a denizen of dense forests, it also occasionally makes its way to neighborhood birdfeeders, where it snatches up unsuspecting songbirds.
