Not the clearest of pictures, super zoom on a phone camera could only provide to certain extent. But, here's a folklore to compensate for it:
The Nanda Devi was first ascended in the year of 1935. Enraged on humans setting foot on her, Nanda Bhagwati(titled by villagers) expressed her anger on Garhwal through a cloud burst and Mussourie drowned under eighteen inches of rainfall, taking lives of twenty men. Villagers of both Garhwal and Kumaon were outraged when they found out about the ascent as the mountain holds sacramental value to them. The climbers on the other hand, when realized the consequences, sacrificed a goat down the gorges, which was considered to have appeased Bhagwati, but only temporarily. On summiting Nanda Devi, one of the climbers dismissed the fear and age old believes as mere mockery and chance happening and disregarded the peak to be just a slab of snow. Shortly after his descent he was traversing the seas, and his sail ship mysteriously vanished without a trace, unknown to all.
Came across this tale while reading The Nanda Devi Affair by Bill Aitken. His romantic Indian sojourn is everything passionate and puts forth simple yet wistful experiences through consequential words, worth sharing.

Last week, this day! 🏔️🏞️
I love dogs but I am also scared of them to the point that I can't even take walks outside. Jommy's mysterious canine mind was able to detect my fear. He was so intuitive and could sense my nervousness. But this little munchkin made me feel so secure and comfortable that he leaned against me, made sure I am comfortable around him. It's amazing how sensitive dogs can be. I miss you Jommy!!🤗 🐩🐾 You are the best!! I hope to meet you again some day. :) #Binsar#binsardiaries#uttarakhand

Whats the difference between man and mountain ?
Both made from dust
But while one's life is years counted
The other continues to witness generations of today become past! #throwbacktothetripofalifetime
The little town of Almora in the Kumaon Valley has my heart.
We were cycling from Katarmal to Kasardevi but our campsite for the day was another 4 KMS ahead of Kasardevi temple. While other cyclists took a halt at the temple, we continued ahead because we'd heard that this campsite had hot water facility and it was a chance to take a bath in 4 days. We quickly had a bath but were in no condition to walk to the temple.
So we met a local outside and asked him if we could rent a bike somewhere. To which he offered us his bike. When we asked him how much I would need to pay. He said that there was no need to pay and we could just fill fuel worth 100 rupees instead. This is why I love the mountains. Pahadis have somehow managed to keep their heart away from all the corruption in the world.
Making an appearance in the frame is the Nandadevi Mountain range with the highest peak having an altitude of 7816 meters.
