One of my favourite things about bike touring as opposed to long distance hiking is all the extra kinda unnecessary things I tend to carry that make my camping experience extra.
Here's we are, cooking dinner in a treehouse, drinking big beers from a mug. The two plastic bottles pictured are olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Also pictured, my glass garlic salt grinder. I know, I fancy 😊
#ghiacciato
No 'Welcome to Sweden' sign but this is close enough.
I have to admit something though...in four days the lovely Miss Harrison will visit me in Oslo. I would be there too if I hadn't lost two days due to weather in Germany and Denmark. This is the reason I took a train to catch up today, so I can be there when she arrives. I feel bad but I've now skipped to Gothenburg and will continue riding from there.
We toured the Schönbrunn Palace today and learned of this early example of #culturalappropiation . The royal family said the history of the House of Habsburgs was captured in hieroglyphics is this obelisk built in the late 1700s. However, hieroglyphics were not deciphered until the early 1800s. So these mean nothing. 🤨😑😔
Komoot vs Google maps: during my tour I started with Google then switched to komoot. I ended up using both, sometimes at the same time. I learned that Google maps puts you on the fastest route possible and the most efficient route; using bike paths, quiet roads, and sometimes freeways. Komoot only uses bike paths and quiet roads, even if it makes sense to go right it'll take you left just to keep you on a quiet road. Komoot also takes longer to get to your destination. So, pick your poison.

Our Sequoias have been parked up in storage for a little while, as we’ll be heading on an exciting backpack-project for @ortlieb_waterproof tomorrow. An environmentally friendly, 12-day trip through Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Germany, all by train with an Interrail pass. The challenge of packing everything up into a minimal setup that fits their Atrack backpack, how to travel with the smaller footprint in mind and what to do when on a trip like this, is what we’ll show you over on @ortlieb_waterproof during our takeover of their account. Follow along from tomorrow on to see how the journey resolves!
New road companion!!! 🤩🐐
Some cyclists take their dogs on the road. Some sailors take hens onboard to produce eggs! Well personally, I will be drinking fresh goat milk everyday! 😆
Nah, I wish. Real story : It was on an early morning ride when this goat caught my attention, screaming to death on the side of the road. It had one broken leg. First, I ignored it, but then turned back to give the goatie a ride to the next village (after photoshoot)! I'm really not sure I gave the goat a favour though... 😅
Damn, she was the perfect companion! And also, a great fit in the ortlieb rack pack! Maybe I should I have kept her by my side. Right? 😊🐐
