We got the cabinets in...😳 without wanting to smother the other with a pillow but but I’m still a little hung up on backsplash. As a reference, the countertop will be Carrara marble. So Safe or bold? Can I just say I could not be happier that this part is over? Dumb walls. *inspo pics in stories!*
I’m in the home stretch of launching our Spring/Summer line and I’m adding more photos and resources for our retailers to use! If you’d like to hop on my wholesale exclusive newsletter to know exactly when the new goodies are launching this week, drop your email below or DM me and I’ll add you ASAP!
Our lil lumberjack had his 1st birthday party yesterday! 🏕🌲 He won’t be one till the 24th but we celebrated a little early. He had a super fun day and completely wore himself out. (See last picture 😊❤️) Life sure has been a whole lot sweeter with him in it. 💙
I’ll share in my stories how we made his lumberjack stack smash cake and I’ll also link all the items that we used for his party in the link in my profile. We ended up not having to purchase much of the decor. I pretty much just brought all of our winter porch decor inside and used it 🙌.
Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday! 😘
Anyone else trying to stay warm and cozy on this cold Sunday?! 🙋🏻♀️ We got a super small “dusting” of snow today, but in TN that’s enough to cause a little excitement around here 😂 I rounded up some awesome natural jute rugs last week (saved in highlights under rug round up) and this week I will be rounding up some awesome neutral rugs! Rugs by far can add the most warmth and texture to a room, which is why I love them so much! Happy Sunday! #wilshirecollections
It’s Sunday morning and seriously crazy amazingly sunny outside. Thank the Lord for the sunshine because seriously I’m drowning in the grey endless dreary days! So It’s pretty obvious that our kitchen “isn’t historically accurate” and I wanted to chat about that. So when we bought this home, our kitchen was the one room in our home that had nothing left of its historic elements. Original windows removed, original trim removed, a dropped ceiling, multiple layers covering the floor, ect ect. So when we decided to tackle this room, we used the only thing we had to go by which was our original butlers pantry cabinets, to use as our cabinet door design which was made by a local cabinet maker. These cabinets went alllll the way up, to the ceiling. With, crown molding! Shocker! So that’s obviously why we did that. Our kitchen likely had a table in the center to work at, in the Victorian days. We, like Victorians, like nice stuff. Victorians always had the best of the best and the newest age of everything they could get their hands on. My interpretation of a table in the kitchen would now be an island 🌴 I’m sure Victorians would approve as they were all about what was the latest and greatest of their time. So why a table is any more acceptable then a island in a kitchen, beats me. So let’s recap. Since our original windows had been removed we had custom windows made to duplicate what WOULD of been in our home. We also repaired and restored the original maple floor, made tongue & groove bead board duplicated from our porch, duplicated all the original trim and rosettes that had been removed. All things I’d consider restoration. So yes is this kitchen historically accurate? Nope. We certainly don’t want to live in a museum 🤔 Did we do a honor to the home by saving &replacing the things that had been removed? I’d say. Would Victorians approve of our giant crown molding? I’m sure they would, especially since they have/had it everywhere else in the home. They were the gaudiest or gaudy. The cool part about owning a home, is you can seriously do what you want to it. You don’t need opinions of sheep on Instagram to make you doubt that process.✌️ #hatersgonnahate#whitekitchen

Since there are lots of new faces around here I decided to try something I’ve never done and post a few things about me you probably don’t know
1. I’m tall. Like almost 6’1” tall.
2. I have a shoe and handbag habit that occasionally cuts into the decor budget
3. I cook a new recipe from @skinnytaste at least once a week. If you aren’t following her you should be!
4. I love to read.
5. I’m a coffee junkie.
6. I firmly believe that a little black paint makes all things better.
7. I positively loath going to the grocery store. This is no exaggeration 🤬
8. Summertime happy hours are one of my favorite pastimes
9. And finally, if you’re still here and reading this, thank you! Thanks for your support, ❤️s and tagging along as I stumble my way around Instagram 😘
Your turn! Tell me something new
We were up early this morning as we are getting ready to hop in a big van and head to Napa for more wine tasting. It’s raining in Northern California but I certainly don’t mind. I love the rain. And we won’t be walking around in the vineyards today. Instead we will be in tasting rooms. Woo hoo.
There are 11 of us (all women and we are all related) and we still can’t figure out why we haven’t done this before.
I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. Such a magical weekend.
Next, I am heading to San Antonio for a Master Class with @stagingstudio. I cannot wait to share this experience with you! Then I will be in Waco to check on our fixer upper and I am looking forward to reporting on the remodeling progress.
It’s going to be a busy week but I cannot wait.
Captain Parm’s BARKday cake was enjoyed by all of the pups at his PAWty!! 🥳🎂🦴🐶🐶💕 The bone “cake” was from the doodles favorite local bakery, then I decorated it with a tinyyyy bit of royal icing tinted light blue and sprinkles 🥳🤗💕
Anybody in the mood for an Ice Cream Sundae? Here is a super-fun DIY one you can make as a centerpiece for your kitchen table.... and it won’t melt!! Just get a tulip sundae glass, fill it with conversation hearts, hot glue taffy to a styrofoam ball (cut ball in half and attach it to the glass with a small amount of hot glue), top with white meringue candy (or more white taffy), a cute straw, and finish it off with a @Lindt_chocolate red “cherry” 🍒! Sooo cute and easy!! And send me pics of the one you make!! 😀

I am so enjoying the sunshine today as I scramble to get everything done before I hop on a plane to Northern California. I have set one and a half tables and was thrilled with the photos until my camera battery ran out. And who knows where my battery charger went! Sport???
I have four different DIY projects happening and I have some really great news about the Three Ingredients Challenge we did yesterday! I can’t wait to tell you all tomorrow.
Well, the rain stopped. And after all of my complaining I just found out it’s going to be in the seventies here this weekend. No comment.
I am heading to Northern California for a family girls weekend. I will be with my two sisters and my two sisters in law. Plus all of their daughters are coming too! We are celebrating my nieces 21st birthday.
I am so excited my future daughter in law is coming too. Thank you @charcharbell! This will be my first ever mother/daughter event. How awesome is that?
I cannot wait!
