Why Save the Rain teaches Sustainable Agriculture.
When we don’t manage our water, our food security is at risk. There are over a billion people in the world affected by hunger due to water scarcity.
Through our Sustainable Agriculture curriculum, communities learn how to receive the rain in the most effective way possible- supporting soil moisture regeneration and reforestation. Once that is accomplished, rains can regulate and food crops become more abundant.
Clean water and food security must go hand in hand in order to guarantee children have the ability to reach for their potential.
In support of that philosophy, Save the Rain teaches a mandatory passive irrigation and sustainable agriculture class to the 5th and 6th graders at the primary school receiving the community rainwater harvesting projects. Using the school farm and learned permaculture design methods, a midday meal is generated for all the students. Using that landscape as a living classroom, they are taught a new way of harvesting rain, planting crops and working with and nurturing the land.
The Women’s Water Initiative mimics the education done at the primary school but it is done at the home/family level....

Onions are the most underrated vegetable out there. Agreed?! They’re in all the bangers - Spag Bol, curry, SOUP - but are rarely given the credit they deserve. So much so that these were about this👌🏼 close to being wasted before we got them. Thankfully we find them most appeeling.

Ahhh... Thieves and Orange. 🍁🍊🍃 One of my all time fall favorites!! This is an especially great time of year to diffuse Thieves and orange - not only is it a perfect fall scent, it also purifies the air in your home and provides awesome seasonal support for any of the yuck going around!
Made Emre’s favourite for his tea while he watches football (with beer brewed in Turkey of course). Kuru Fasulye or white bean stew with cheesy mash & spring onion 🌱 I’m really enjoying cooking food from a new culture!
How exciting! It doesn’t seem real that someone like me who started off working in the onion fields at an early age can make it on the ballot for US Congress. This is a sample ballot we received today. I’ve worked hard to get here. Please vote Castillo on your ballots this November (or October if you opted into mail in your ballots). #togetherwerise#forthepeople#utahisforeverybody#utah#vote#bethechange

Came home from the gym to a package with this beautiful bracelet from my mentor @mrsvdoubleu. I am speechless and on the verge of tears. I have never worked with so many amazing women that want me to win as much as I do. The relationships I have built over the last year and a half with Beautycounter are priceless. I work with some of the dopest and most inspirational women... they have helped me push and stretch myself more than I thought imaginable. Thank you @mrsvdoubleu for helping me discover this amazing company and an opportunity of a life time. So very glad I followed my gut and took the leap! I started when Jeremiah was just 1 month old!! I work with women that are Doctors, Teachers, Accountants, Trainers, Stay-Home-Moms, Corporate Executives... you name it. There is no limit to what you can do with this business. I never feel like I am working because I literally LOVE what I’m doing. I absolutely LOVE educating people about the personal care industry and advocating for safer Beauty. I will never grow tired of it. *
If you are interested in linking up with a company on a mission to impact positive change, send me a DM to learn how! I promise you won’t regret it! #BeTheChange#BetterBeauty#Beautycounter#BetterbeautyBabe#Grateful

In honor of World Gorilla Day, here are some fun facts:
About 95-99% of their DNA is similar to that of human beings
Gorillas are the biggest among all the primates in terms of size and weight.
Gorillas are herbivores and consume plant materials as the main component of their diet. Some Gorilla subspecies also eat insects.
Gorillas have larger stomachs than their chest due to their enlarged intestines which digest huge amounts of fibrous vegetation that they eat every day.
Male Gorillas develop patches of silver hair on their back after the age of 12, due to which they are called Silverbacks.
Gorillas live in “troops” comprising of one Silverback and several female and young Gorillas.
Gorillas are intelligent and have been observed using tools in the wild.
Some individual Gorillas have been taught sign language in captivity.
All the species of Gorilla are critically endangered.
