A massive CONGRATULATIONS to one of my fertility mamas Katelyn and her hubby Matt on the safe arrival of their daughter Charlotte Cora born on 21st June (her due date) weighing in at 8lb. How adorable is she? Such a gorgeous girl 😘
Katelyn and Charlotte are doing really well and Matt and Katelyn are in disbelief that they are now parents after their fertility journey and couldnt be more in love ❤
So excited and happy for you both and looking forward to meeting Charlotte and having cuddles in the next few weeks. Sending lots of love, Edwina xxx
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends zero items in your baby’s crib for the first year. This is a recommendation based solely on safety concerns, and parents are smart to follow this recommendation for as long as possible.
But parents, you know your baby best! An item for baby to sleep with is perfectly normal, and often helps a baby sleep better. Use your best judgment, and keep in mind the following: ➕a pacifier is absolutely safe to keep in the crib with baby, and in fact has been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS.
➕a sleep sack is a safe way to keep baby warm at night, without having to use a blanket. DO NOT use a full size, loose blanket in baby’s crib. @halosleep makes my favorite sleep sacks.
➕once baby is rolling and moving around their crib, I like to use mesh bumpers (pictured above). Traditional bumpers can be hazardous, but mesh ones prevent baby from sticking their limbs through crib rails, and they’re breathable. Make sure they’re very tightly secured to the crib.
➕a “lovey” item is totally normal. If your baby is strong enough to roll and move around their crib, they can likely sleep with a small item without concern. A stuffed animal, or a muslin or tag blanket, can be a comforting thing to hold onto at night. They’re also great for travel, giving baby a sense of familiarity and home.
My daughter sleeps with a stuffed bunny, and has since she was around 10 months old. My son has not attached to anything yet, but I keep a stuffed owl (above) in his crib, hoping that if he does attach to something, that it will be the owl 🤞
Have you used mesh bumpers, and did you like them as much as I do? Does your little one sleep with a “lovey”?

I read a quote the other day and it really stuck with me “The grass is always greener where you water it.” It’s so easy to think others have it all, or rather have it easy. Maybe they do, but I think most of the time you just don’t see them watering their lawn. 😉 #socutephoto
I'm alive!!! This is the part of the year where I just try to survive. The kids are home from school all summer and July is BY FAR the busiest month work wise.
I painted one side of my barnwood this week and I am IN LOVE! Also, If I do this set-up every baby girl the entire summer don't be mad.
**Qualified!!** So what does this mean?? Simply that I am dedicated and committed to the highest care and standards in neonatal care and safety in my studio. Is this required to be a newborn photographer? No. Should every newborn photographer take a course like this? In my opinion, yes! There is so much value in investing in yourself and doing all you can to become the best ‘you’ you can possibly be. I will wear this badge with honor 💗 @academyofnewbornphotography

This little angel has a huge gallery to choose from 😍 and I don’t know how anyone will pick their favorites since mine changes daily. 😂 Sessions like these remind me why I fell in love with newborn photography (as if I ever forget!). 💗
Well hello hump day! ❤️ We’re getting closer to the weekend and I’ve been a busy bee over here trying to set up and organize my new studio space. (All while battling asthmatic bronchitis! 😭no worries, I’m now on good old fashioned steroids and an antibiotic)
I can’t wait to hold my first session in it. I’m excited about new things to come. I might do a little studio tour once it’s all set up. #inhomestudio
