It’s a tough morning at our place... Alfie slept inside last night as he said it was too windy outside (Alf refuses to sleep outdoors if there is any sort of gale) I didn’t think it was that gusty but he was pretty determined that he should come back inside and was going to wake the neighbors telling us! So he slept inside in the lounge room...our alarm goes of at 5.20 and it’s quiet but as soon as Alf hears one word from us he is up and in our room ready and willing to go for a walk (and oh so bouncy) How he hears one quiet word from the other end of the house never ceases to amaze me! #alfiethekelpie#canhearthroughsolidbrickwalls#snooze#sleep

⭐️ International Garden Photographer Of The Year 8 - Winner of Trees/Woods & Forest Category
I discovered this stunning location purely by accident. I was running a group photography workshop and while driving back down Mt. Buffalo we entered some thick fog with amazing soft light streaming through. One of the group requested that we stop to capture the light and I simply had to oblige! We pulled the bus over as soon as we could and discovered this mystical scene that although hidden from eyesight was only metres from the edge of the road. What a beautiful discovery. I was back in the area a few weeks later and was greeted with almost identical conditions and light. I nailed this shot before the fog lifted only a couple of minutes later.

Australians owe more debt than ever to the tax man, with the Australian Taxation Office's annual report revealing collectable debt rose to almost $24 billion last financial year
The annual report also reveals the agency collected more company tax from large corporates that had higher profits, and thereby beat its budget revenue target.

Personal loans are often awarded through risk-based pricing, which means the lender assesses the loan applicant before determining approval and offering an interest rate.
Consumers are completely unaware. They see a low advertised rate, apply for the loan and then scratch their head as to why they get offered a much higher rate, or worse still, get rejected outright.
Every application can put a mark on your credit file and has the potential to reduce your score even further.

There is a lot of data to suggest that Australia should look to lower its corporate tax rate.
The reason for this, is two fold. Firstly, the current rate of 30% has been in place since 2001, which has not provided Australian businesses the flexibility to create more appropriate fiscal strategies around a changing, globally-integrated economy.
Secondly, a lowered tax rate, even a reduction from 30% to 25%, positions Australia as a greater value investment for foreign businesses. This will create a positive inflow of investment into Australia, and likewise, prevent already established businesses taking their operations offshore. Overall, a re-assessment of the corporate tax structure is necessary.

What does financial security look like?
Financial security looks different for every family, when we work with individuals looking to secure a safe future, there are three main areas we focus on:
𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄: When planning for the future, your current sources of income, along with returns from assets such as shares or investment property and any other sources of revenue, will all play a part in securing your family's future.
𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Assets and liabilities are an integral part of personal finances. It is common to perceive liabilities as a negative, however, the key is whether you are being taxed effective and using liabilities to maximise the value of your assets, and therefore, achieving your greater goals in life.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The final step for financial security for your family is to protect your position. This will require careful estate planning and looking at your level of insurance cover and retirement planning to maintain your standard of living and that of your loved ones.
It takes a considerable degree of foresight to predict how your family's finances will change – which is why it is so important to consult with a specialised financial planner.

The simple answer is a unit trust is a form of collective investment constituted under a trust deed. A unit trust pools investors’ money into a single fund, which is managed by a fund manager.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: • To control and protect family assets (possibly the most popular motive) • When someone is too young (or incapacitated) to handle their own financial affairs • To save "spendthrifts" from themselves • For the management and distribution of pension/retirement funds during the term of an individual’s employment

Mortgage borrowers are two-and-a-half times more likely to have a home loan approved by a regulation-lite shadow bank than the big competitors.
Shadow banks have had lighter regulation and the more favourable markets for wholesale funding means their loans have been lower. It's about competition and they have been more competitive

The strong flow of new housing supply is one of the key factors behind the moderation in price pressures in housing markets, which has ultimately improved housing affordability.
The combination of those factors and low-interest rates creates a situation where affordability in most capital cities is more favourable than the 20-year average.

Top tip: 30 per cent or below is considered a healthy ratio; owe nothing and you’re most likely to get approved for a new card or higher limit on your existing one.
Banks seem to be weighing employment income far more heavily than, say, investment income.
The Consumer Action Law Centre has also long advocated for limit "limits": what could comfortably be repaid in, say, three years. So you’d be 63 – and working?
Everyone needs their own credit card, with a sufficient limit to get you out of a financial emergency, before age 50.
Of course, its balance should ordinarily be $0.
