Dinner at Kevin Gillespie’s Gunshow. Once the traveling bar cart finally made it to us, we got a Seasonal Tonic (asparagus vodka, grapefruit + PPC tonic, how chartreuse, citric, seltzer) and an Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder (Gin, local Peach, Vadouvan Blanc vermouth, Lemon, absinthe, Meyer vinegar). Then the courses come out dim sum stylie, with the chef who cooks it bringing it to the table. First was a Frito Pie which was difficult to capture via photo, so you might need to use you imagination a bit. It had smoked shiitake, queso and green tomato. Then was the Mahi-mahi, with asparagus, snap pea, deviled egg. Next was a Chilled Vidalia onion soup, a Smoked duck breast with grits, steak tartare, and then we had a couple more cocktails to finish it up. The I Got Seoul, and a Field of Drams.
Ran over to Atlanta for lunch at Hugh Acheson’s Empire State South: Started out with an Ask Alice (Pisco, passionfruit, absinthe, lime, cucumber, sparkling wine) and a Solar Flare (Blanco tequila, Kina, Star anise, elderflower, ginger, pineapple, lime) along with some pimento Cheese spread with bacon marmalade served in jar. Then we had the Farm Egg and Shrimp and Grits, both were fantastic. Finally a couple more cocktails: Silk Curtain (Agricole, pineapple, Bonal aperitif wine, amaro) and an Amber Hour (blended Scotch, Fino Sherry, grapefruit, bitters)

I don't know about you, but I'm ALWAYS looking for way to make #datenight with the hubby more creative. And even if you're an OTPer like moi, that doesn't mean you can't find fun ideas! So, I'm spilling the beans on my fantastic date night crawl! Yep, we went to 3 different spots - one for drinks + apps, one for entrees and one for dessert + entertainment. And we found it all in Roswell, GA.
Date night stop 1 was @whiskeyprojectATL. Sure, if you love whiskey they've got whiskey that'll leave you in awe, or if you're a Manhattan fan like me, GET ONE! 🥃🥃🥃But honestly they have all kinds of crazy good cocktails, no matter what your booze of choice. Of course you need to something to put in your stomach to stand up to that booze, and we couldn't think of anything better than their shrimp fritters. Swipe ⬅️ to see more yumminess. Pro tip: Make sure to reserve their comfy leather chairs for your date night! Check out my next post for Date night stop 2! #atleats#atlantadining#hosted#atlantarestaurants#atlantablogger#atlfun#weloveatlanta#visitRoswellGA#roswellga
