PC 📸: @blackcoffee.mt - With a growing population and increased usage of public lands by the public for hunting, fishing, camping, and general recreation, I’d offer that it is time to acquire more public land instead of selling them off. For a fraction of our military budget we could increase public land size and access and allow free usage to all citizens. Now we just need to get our politicians to listen to us. #publiclandowner
Beautiful photo of tonight's orange moon taken by Gustavus physics major Peter Varanasi '19 from the Olin Hall Observatory. When the moon is near the horizon, it appears orange due to the scattering of light by the atmosphere. #astrophotography#WhyGustavus
Took soon cool pics of the moon through my telescope (by pressing my iPhone to the eyepiece). Can’t wait to get the adapter for my camera. Taken in SF. You can tell by all the soupy crap in the atmosphere. #astrophotography#moon#stars#astronomy
I’m not the best photographer, let alone astrophotographer, and that puts me into a creative block sometimes. It’s too easy to compare my work to other people who have either done this longer or have an entirely different style. That goes for everyone, doing anything. If you love doing something, go do it, it won’t matter how much your equipment is or how new it is. You’ll find a way to work with it and make something great out of it. Someone could have paint made from minerals from a planet three galaxies over and paintbrushes made out of Thor’s luscious locks, and their painting could still be shit. It’s not the supplies or equipment that makes the artist, it’s the passion.
I’m a child between lost and found.
When I see a 🌈, I think of Noah’s Ark and my ex-husband. Bitter Sweet actually cause I’m initially always amazed at the concoction of colors, then I’m reminded of God’s judgement during the flood but also his fidelity towards man in his promise to never judge the earth again with another deluge. That’s the story I choose to believe anyway. But then it brings back the ex who’s also named Noah which certainly there’s a reason for the ex status. All just history now. Then somewhere along the times the rainbow became synonymous with the 🏳️🌈 community so when I sport my 🌈 belt I feel that people judge and categorize me or something. It’s like, “I love the rainbow y’all, and I love Jesus.” I’ll def. continue wearing my fave belt fosho. As for finding belonging? That’s a stretch. I’ve yet to fit in (long term) anywhere or with anyone (fam bam exempt). Don’t foresee that ever changing. Lord knows..... ^ . ^
Dunno, suppose some things mean something different to some people while others might mean the world to someone or perhaps nothing at all...
Like this 🌈 flare captured by the fluoresce of the lens (I like to call it my “Ora”) haha which magnificently captured the heart of my Milky Way.
