A lot of yoga isn't a big grand sexy pose. Sometimes it's having a stressful day and needing to loosen up that ol trap. I still can't get very deep into this because of my ankle sprain.
Side lunge delivers a delicious leg stretch. Great for after running 🏃♀️ .
If you’re heel can’t get down all the way yet you can always keep the hips higher and place hands on the ground beneath shoulders for support.
Knee hurting in this pose? Check knee isn’t tracking far beyond the toes. Also make sure you’re pressing the outer edge of the foot into the ground so your properly engaging foot and leg muscles to avoid dumping in your knee joint.
I love this pose and try to practice it several times a week. Catch me @utdurec on Saturdays at 12 to practice with me. .
although this last day has been packed!!
Raising well before sunrise 🌅 meditating on the beach for two hours. Yoga asana practice followed by naked swimming in the sea. I love this part washing off the sweat and the sand. 😃
Quick breakfast of local tortillas warmed up over a direct flame of the camp stove, some local yoghurt and leftover papaya. Yum 😋.
Packing time is not usually my favorite but today I managed in less then three hours thanks to a kind help of a friend I met last year. Thank you brother Bard. 🙏
Wind was up so it was time to hit the water, kiteboarding for the last time! Practicing my jumping and back rolls, riding waves and just enjoying the elements.
Tonight is a open mic 🎤 in the local town so I plan to go having a dinner there.
And tomorrow I will start my first leg of the ten hours drive back home. I think I am ready!
This has been the 30th day for the three challenges I took on here:
1) Meditate for 2 hours for 30 days.
2) Journal my inner experience with “surgical precision”.
3) Liquid/juice fasting. Eat solid food only every other day for 30 days.
I have been doing some of those challenges each month for over a year now and I highly recommend this to everyone! It is called: “Your Epic Life Experiment - 30 Challenges to Enlightenment” designed by Jordan Peterson.
Wow! I have finished this one and it was an awesome experience. I feel light, healthy, strong, connected 💗 and so alive!! 😃

Having a hard time sitting still? That’s okay. Every Thursday @yoga_goodness from 5:30-6:30 PM I can show you some of my tricks to help you #sitput , #chillout , or #shakeitoff . Every day is different, just like the breath and how you feel; it always changes. Sometimes we move more, sometimes less. I scan the room and feel the energy of my class so I can give you the goodies to keep for your home practice so you can get what you need out of an hour. Please do yourself the favor of taking one hour for you; it could help us change the world. My class is beginner and more friendly, a friend is always recommended but not required. Only thing I ask, don’t be perfect and we can get your #asana on the mat. 🙏🏻✨📿 #breathein#breatheout#beginnertowinner#youwerebornawinner#yogateacher#yoga#downtownlynchburg

Your energy has far more power than you can imagine. There is energy in your spoken words, in your emails and in your physical presence. When we function from a fearful, low-level energetic state, our thoughts and energy can literally pollute the world.
But when we function from a place of positive energy, the world around us becomes more positive. Fear cannot coexist with love, so we must learn how to dissolve all boundaries with love by training a neutral mind and taking responsibility for our own energy.
You have the power to raise your energy and serve the world.
But it takes training. It takes skillful action to more away from the tendencies of fear/anxiety/depression and toward bliss, love and clarity!
Motivation ebbs and flows. A mind seeking growth does the same. Interestingly enough, it's not always up to us. Not completely, anyway. Situations arise outside of our control, and sometimes shit gets hard. That's when the decision-making part *does* come in. You get to choose to 1) wallow and sulk and wonder why bad things keep happening, and 2) lean in, learn, and grow 🌱 Not going to lie, I definitely go with the first sometimes, but only ever temporarily. Then, I move on to the good part ✨ and I start to see things as opportunities, I am filled with love and the realization that every single thing happening is temporary and the next steps are in large part up to me. Letting off the reigns can be hard, but it feels so good when you start to put a little more trust and love into things and believe that they will work out just as they need to, building a stronger you in the end. Growth is good, even when it's hard. And I choose to accept it, and flow as gracefully as possible through all of it. 💕

Amazing tutorial from one of our favorite accounts @miz.liz ❤️ Forearmstand is a great inversion to work shoulder opening and strength, as well as core and leg toning. A must save! Share with your friends that want to get upside down and read below for more details!! 👇👇👇
✨Preps for Pincha✨ #TutorialsWithLiz
What I found the most critical while learning forearm stands was building *shoulder* flexibility/strength and *core* to hold myself up while inverted. Here’s a short tutorial to prep pinchas 🙃
1.Cat/cow warm up.
2.Downdog to open shoulders (play with extension and external rotation of the shoulders instead of sinking into the joints)
3.Dolphin - drop to forearms and extend shoulders, keep on externally rotating biceps up towards ears (builds strength and flexibility in shoulders) *Bonus* dolphin to downdog to dolphin x10.
4.Forearm Plank - spend a while here 😘 shoulders over elbows (when you feel like coming out of it, spend another 10 breaths in the pose)
5.Side forearm plank - add in your own variations for more fun!
6.Forearm plank - lift one leg up for 5 breaths x10
7.Dolphin - walk feet in, but don’t let your shoulders drift too far over elbows, keep on extending shoulders
8.Dolphin - lift one leg up and reach towards the ceiling, both sides, eventually other leg will float up!! .
This’ll take some time to build strength for pinchas, but it’s a starting point! Try these out and let me know how it goes ❤️ .
Some of y’all have been asking for wrist strengthening warmups and more press work, so I’ll have them up soon! What else do you want to see?? ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Comment below!

Yoga glow after practice?
I don’t know what you are talking about 🤔
Just a lot of sweat, messy hair and melting make up 😂
Yep. I’m struggling with this #intermediateseries transition.
Don’t stress yourself too much about what you see on the internet.
Most of people posts their success, not failures 😀 here is my failure 😂😂🙈

Yoga poses for swimmers. This sequence shows the main poses from the upcoming intermediate video on yogaselection.com. The class groups together a sequence of shoulder and arm related poses that will be helpful for swimmers. Although swimming uses a range of muscles located throughout the entire body, this particular class focuses on poses that help to improve shoulder mobility and arm reach. All the main upper body muscles that are involved in swimming such as the triceps, pectorals, deltoids and latissimus dorsi are targeted in this 30 minute video. It will benefit swimmers who are new to yoga, as well as more experienced practitioners who are looking to focus on their shoulders and arms. Both classical poses and therapeutic adaptations of poses are included in the class. This video will be released over the coming weekend. Head to the website for more.
