Finished this piece last night with the exception of some small details that are only visible when viewing in person. It will be varnished and shipped off to its new home this week as the person who commissioned it, loves it!! ❤️❤️ That makes me a happy artist! Super grateful for the support and appreciation of my work, and that I am blessed to share a love I discovered later in life, with others. 🙏❤️
Rumbles the unflattering scenes of growth
The pretty bee squirms as she weaves in
And out of the dangling gusts of wind
The waves of the opposing breeze
Force a change in direction
And it’s thunder is causing a change
Yet she doesn’t stop for protection
She identifies her greatest possessions
Realises it’s knowing thy self and love
So now as the gust lessens
Rather than returning back to her original course of direction
She surrendered to change
And with that came a pleasure
Far better than just personal gain” .
It’s been a couple weeks since my last #SoulSoundChallenge. As I went away to Morocco & have been quite the busy bee since I got back. Since my trip, the energy shift of reset & restart has inspired a lot of divine synchronicities in the last week and I’m so grateful. I’ve had a couple days of “ 😩😭OMG ! Are you kidding me” but they’ve been a blessing in disguise. So my prompt for this week is: Blessing In Disguise
Often times we are soo hung up on our blessings being perfectly gift wrapped & delivered via special delivery; that we are often thrown off, disappointed, discouraged & unhappy when it’s presentation isn’t what we wanted or we fail to recognise its what we needed because it doesn’t appear as we expected. Life gets better & easier when rather than having expectations, we set intentions and standards of living. As this still gives us freedom to create a reality we want or need to thrive & be happy but it dissipates the idea of being attached to a specific outcome. I realised over the last week that I had attracted certain things I needed & wanted due to my new way of surrendering & accepting. However, I recognise I was very much in my feelings about the way in which my blessings came. Well, that’s before I had to check myself, get centred again & ask what the message was. So I just want to encourage you to find gratitude in the pain or struggle because it’s normally on the other side of your blessing. Meaning your biggest blessings are usually disguised in the imperfect, unexpected & difficult moments. Embrace the challenges of growth with sincerity & surrender to ease your journey of expansion...cont’d👇🏾
It’s hard to believe Stan Lee is gone. Like many of us, I think I subconsciously thought he was as immortal as the characters he created.
I’ve never considered myself any good at drawing people... but I wanted to give this one a shot out of respect for Stan the Man. Hopefully I did him justice!
RIP Stan Lee.
Hecate’s Familiar 🐺🌙
Black dogs show up ALOT in folklore all over the world, and all of them show striking similarities (which, often, seem directly related to Hecate - it’s crazy to research!) .
In Greek mythology, Hecate would sometimes show up in the form of a black dog, and they were viewed as sacred to her. In Hecate’s cults, the dogs were associated - like goddess herself - with roads, the home and hearth, and the spirits of the dead. Black dogs would sometimes be sacrificed to her at a crossroads (aw), which she was believed to rule over. .
Ebony pooches also make a big appearance in British folklore, where they’re often referred to as the ‘Black Dogs of the British Isles’. Although the tales vary, they generally have many of the same characteristics: they’re seen as symbols of death (sometimes they kill, sometimes they just portend death. Remember the grim from Harry Potter?? Yeah, padfoot is a real dog from folklore!) They’re also associated in many tales with crossroads, ancient roads, and hanging trees. Although they’re usually pretty evil in these tales, there are some dogs that act as guardians, guiding travelers home on the road at night.
