I was supposed to take Koko to a movie last night, but the plans fell through and we improvised. We ended up driving a total of five hours just to watch the sunset at Craters of the moon. We got to spend a lot of quality time together, and she even hiked up to the top of this volcano. The view from the top is spectacular. You can see miles and miles of hardened lava rock, creating one of the most formidable landscapes on planet earth. Looking at her, I see a girl who will have to take on an inhospitable world, but I know she will be able to do it because she is strong. She’s like her mother.
