“Day After Day” by Boubou
“Day after day, day after day, we stuck, nor breath nor motion; As idle as a painted ship, upon a painted ocean.” - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Some days are great, other not so much. Today has been a tough one, closing out what was a special birthday week. Not an ideal way to complete this celebrated journey around the sun, but sometimes that's just how things roll. I thought about finding a more uplifting quote for today's post, but sometimes it's o.k. to sit with the sadness. To feel the pain. To soak that shit in. To be one with it.
"Day After Day" helps me remember that tomorrow is a different day, filled with new opportunities and fresh energy. I wonder if the young French producer (only 18-years-old) concocted this downtempo groove, filled with promising lyrics and a hopeful vibe, in the midst of a day like this of his own. Perhaps as a ray of sunshine for his listeners on their own dark days. It feels like the kind of song that allows each listener to interpret it in their own way -- I really enjoy those kinds of songs.
That's all I can muster up for now. Until tomorrow...

Black People I know we have been taught that "White is Right" since Slavery here in the United States. The epitome of beauty in this country is still White Women, White Men still make more money than anybody. Even until this day our lovely President Trump and his supporters show Us daily that Our Lives dont matter to them.
Some Black DJs complain about EDM DJs that appropriate the culture, or nobody will put them on, the business information that they need isn't out there, You want the same opportunities blah blah bullshit bullshit. Now You have companies or individuals like myself that are Black Owned and Operated but yet I get told by some of the unpopular Black DJs that reach out to me that @theADJency is:
"Everything You Do looks so Urban"
I don't need to represent White DJs or Producers to validate my agency. For the record I work with and consult many White DJs, Remixers etc that want to work with Us. They say "We don't care what color You are as long as You can do the job". They respect Mark Da Spot, Nasty & Lenny, Big Tigger and Freestyle Steve.
I thought We wanted equality and for Black Lives to matter.I see the difference in the way that some Black DJs, Rappers, Managers treat Black Music Executives versus White Music Executives. It's sad. If We are going to make America great again , especially if we want equal opportunities in Entertainment We have to support each other
and not continually be crabs in a barrel. #dj#djlife#djprgirl#theADJency#spotify#artists#indieartistblueprint#newmusic#artistdevelopment#recordlabel#recordingartist#undergroundhiphop#newhiphop#spotify#applemusic#newartist#dallasmusic#mymixtapez#musicrelease#unsignedartist#amazonmusic#musicbusiness#rapper#youtubemusic#soundcloud#producer#artistmanagement
