Happy #EarthDay friends! A time to look inside ourselves and reflect on whether our beliefs about environmental stewardship are reflected sufficiently in our actions: not to feel shame but to gaze forwards with renewed optimism and sense of purpose.
I had the privilege of sharing a long weekend with amazing people as we explored and savoured some of our planets most beautiful creations.
When we visit a canyon we are watching a snapshot into a process of continuous, gradual, natural change as the Earth is constantly eroded by the forces of wind and water (and ice fracturing, thanks Dana). The Earth is always changing and we are each unavoidably a part of that. We get to choose what part.

Get ready for a million photos!!! Lol. Today was an incredible experience hiking to #angelslanding (what’s not shown here is the rain clouds that came in shortly after this picture and the chains that we had to scale to get to the top!) More photos to come, once I come down off this high and re-find my land legs. 🥰 #optoutside#unwind#lookout#zionnationalpark
It has been quite an adventure with my man the past few days. We've hiked, climbed, walked, and drove through a very beautiful area of Utah. Each day brought new amazing views of God's creation. Today we hiked the West Rim Trail up to Scout Lookout...just to the beginning of Angel's Landing Trail. (That's for another time) It was worth every step up 1000 feet, including Walter's Wiggles. (Google it) We started out each day saying: This is the day the Lord has made, it is a gift. We will be joyful and glad that we are given a new day.
Thanks everyone for indulging me as I share...each day is a gift with my man by my side. Love deeply. We never know when it will be our last. Life is an adventure...and God is faithful to give us hind's feet for the high places. ❤

Thanks mother earth for being a badass and allowing us to explore your beauty. Feeling a call to the desert lately 🧡
Had an amazing time in Zion National Park with my mom, niece && Devan🌄 This was my official birthday celebration 🥳 I wanted to mark something off of my Bucket List && it felt ABSOLUTELY amazing that I was finally able to! Hiking Angels Landing was finally marked off of my list ✅ AND I added Utah to the list of states I’ve traveled to! Celebrated Easter in my favorite place of worship...nature 🙏🏼⛰ #ZionNationalPark#AngelsLanding#EasterSunday#AdventuresOfCaitAndDev#EarthDay
Happy 🌎 Day! Photo taken in one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited, Zion National Park, Utah, 🇺🇸. Let’s protect this place, ya hear?! This part of Zion is great because only shuttles are allowed in. The result is a much more peaceful experience.
Angels Landing, once thought to be so high, that only an angel could land there. She’s a beauty. From the ground level through the switchbacks all the way to the top, this is a stunning hike. The views just don’t stop. Worthy of all the fame and regard it’s seen — a true classic.
My legs are sore from the hike up to #angelslanding but that’s ok 👍 next time I’ll be more prepared! By far this trail it’s the hardest I have done and it has many switch back and up/down hills that will take your breath away but it’s so good that it will not matter at the end of it! #utahphotography#utah#utahphoto#utah
HAPPY EARTH DAY! Nothing has shown me more of Mother Nature’s sweet creations than this running life! There is nothing better than exploring beautiful spots on foot and knowing you are alive, awake and living life in full color 🙃. #babygoatjogs#travelrunning#explore#mothernature#earthday
HAPPY 🌎 DAY!!! Shout out to one of my new favorite pieces of earth, Zion National Park. In my lifetime, I’ve had the ability to experience some pretty amazing places and this is maybe at the top. Throughout it all, the time I’ve spent in the outdoors has dramatically affected me and the way I look at the giant rock we live on. I encourage anyone reading this to try to get out and find joy in the wonderful resources our planet offers. Swim in a lake, hang on a beach, go bathe in a forest, ski down a mountain, bike a shoreline, spend time in a local park - it really doesn’t matter as long as you are out and taking advantage. Not only will these simple acts make you happier (science says so!! 🤓📈) but you’ll build a greater appreciation for your world and the things living in it. Hopefully this appreciation will lead you to be more mindful about the health of the environment and from there maybe you can take action to reduce the negative impact you are having. It’s really not difficult. The changes you make in your life need not be huge but over time you’ll be doing your part in slowing (or even reversing!!! 😬🤞🏻) the death of our planet. If that isn’t something that you want to get behind then ✌🏻. #earthday#zionnationalpark#angelslanding#hikezion#hikeutah#utahrocks#nationalparkservice#exploreoutdoors#recycle#exploreutah#exploreeverywhere
Happy Easter from Angels Landing! I’ll be honest — I (Missy) did not make it the last half mile from Scout Lookout to the top, Angels Landing, but Travis did. I watched too many videos that psyched me and my fear of heights out. Regardless, the hike to Scout Lookout and Angels Landing is beautiful but very, very steep; the kind of steep that hurts on the way back down. The first shuttle leaves the Visitor Center at 7am and we were in line at 6:45 — five minutes later and we wouldn’t have made the first shuttle. It’s a 25-minute ride up to The Grotto shuttle stop where you get on the trail. It took us about 45 minutes to get to Scout Lookout and then another 30 minutes for Travis to get up to Angels Landing. Today ended up being the perfect day for the trek, with fewer people and no real lines, even at 9:30 when we made our way down. There was a moment when the sky got dark and we had a few sprinkles that made me nervous for Travis to come down from Angels Landing, but it cleared quickly and was a very comfortable hike back down. To those of you who have thought about doing Angels Landing but are afraid, I can tell you that I regret not attempting it. Next time!
