I didn’t know how much I hate the interstate until I’m driving it every day. I’d rather take the backroad any day 🌅 #sunrise#almostheaven

I’m not sure if I’ve ever taken a landscape photo with my mkiv or even my mkiii. My iPhone is the only thing that gets to see these views. I might start using my gear for more than just people, we’ll see. 📸 #commute#almostheaven
The Allegheny Highlands Trail (AHT) follows the original route of the West Virginia Central and Pittsburg Railway built by Henry Gassaway Davis in 1884. The rail trail travels 24.5 miles between Elkins and Parsons, and provides panoramic views of the countryside as it passes through small towns and rural farmland. The rail trail has portions that are fine packed gravel as well as portions that are smoothly paved.
“Everybody is expressing the same thought today: "I hope they play Elvira!" The Oak Ridge Boys are no strangers to Wheeling's historic Capitol Theatre, where they were once a staple in the days of Jamboree USA. "They used to play the theatre every year," recalls Denny Magruder, executive director of the Greater Wheeling Sports and Entertainment Authority. "Sometimes they'd play as many as three shows in a weekend. So they've been here multiple times. But they haven't been to the theatre since we reopened nine and a half years ago." Magruder says that's why the billboards say "The Boys Are Back" -- because it's true.
He said over the years, the Oak Ridge Boys got to know people at the theatre. "Our former production manager Tom Beck became great friends with them and said they're just some of the nicest guys on the road," Magruder added. "I think they're almost like residents. They've played here so often, it's nice to welcome them back home." When their motor coach pulled up in front of the theatre this morning, Wheeling Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Frank O'Brien was passing by. "It instantly brought back memories of the heyday of country music shows that took place here many, many years ago at the theater," said O'Brien. "It took me back to those times when the crowds would line up." He said it also took him back to a song he heard on the radio a lot. "Elvira!" “Oglebay Institute’s Towngate Theatre continues its main stage season with a production of Dion Boucicault’s Irish comedy/melodrama “The Shaughraun.” It will be staged March 15-17 and 22-23.
The story revolves around a wrongly accused convict, Robert Ffolliott, who has escaped from Australia and sneaked back into Ireland. He must escape various melodramatic cliffhangers from those trying to arrest him. He gets some help and comic relief from his faithful friend Conn- The Shaughraun, a fiddling, poaching vagabond who likes his whiskey and tall tales. “The Shaughraun” is a delightful theatrical romp with a bit of everything. The action includes a jailbreak, fights, romance, double and triple crosses and a very funny wake. Colorful characters include a dastardly villain, a damsel in distress, a handsome hero and a valiant dog that helps save the day. There’s whirling and leaping and some singing and dancing, too.
Towngate Theatre technical director P.D. Gregg is directing the show and has assembled a talented cast of actors. “This is a delightful melodrama brimming with action and laughs,” Gregg said. “Come cheer for the hero, boo the villain and, above all, laugh.” Cast members include: Pete Fernbaugh, Brendan Sheehan, Walt Warren, Wayne McCord, Jon J. Coffield, Eric T. Dutton, Jim Showalter, Karissa Martin, Bethany Fernbaugh, Dee Gregg, Emily Hores, Kathy Burley, Zachary Thompson, Noah Hilton, Marion Stolz, Arlene Merryman and Bailey.
Dion Boucicault, a 19th century Irish actor and playwright, wrote “The Shaughraun.” Boucicault was well known on both sides of the Atlantic and his melodrama “The Colleen Bawn” was one of the most successful plays of the time. He wrote more than 150 plays and was a major influence on the form and content of American drama.
Curtain is at 8 p.m. March 15, 16, 22 and 23. A 3 p.m. matinee takes place Sunday, March 17.

Another great sunrise at the New River Gorge. We had to make haste to get to the rim before sunrise. We made it with only about 5 minutes to spare. Fun St. Patrick’s Day adventure and we had just come from a Milky Way shoot. #wildandwonderful
