Day 175 - #OnlyThingTravel
The view from my hotel in Kandy is lush. The employees said to keep my windows closed or else I’ll come home to a monkey in my room. If that happens, I’ll literally jump off my balcony.

Dientes de Navarino with @chilenativo:
It’s amazing how many impressive views you can find here. There seems to be one behind every turn.
This is right where the Dientes de Navarino and Lake Windhond circuits brake apart. That small area where the forest starts on the left over the lake is where we set our camp and left everything behind to start our hike up Mt. Bettinelli.
Here I go! Follow along as I travel the United States and share each and every experience I encounter!🚐

Looking through photos and missing @yosemitenps, the short amount of time I had there last summer clearly wasn't enough to explore all the beauty the park had to offer. That was also when the valley just reopened from the forest fire and I got lucky with the backcountry permit. I will always remember meeting a fellow adventurer @timowero at our campsite, hiking Half Dome and Clouds Rest in sandals because my boots gave up on me, and be reminded of my little accident there with the scar on my shin. Good memories!
Feb 20 - Milford Sound.
They call this place the 8th wonder of the world, and with good reason. With soaring fiord walls straight up and hundreds of feet straight down below the water, it’s a sight to behold.
Set in a natural rainforest it was very unusual for us to get sunshine during our tour, and the waterfalls were just spectacular, the smallest being the height of the Niagara Falls, and the big one at the end three times that height.
For an idea of scale, look for the white boat in the picture right after the one of me with complementary coffee. The boat is to the left side of the waterfall. .
We got drenched in frigid glacial water when they parked our boat right under the falls in that photo, and a lovely couple took a picture of @travellingvee and I just after, which really does not depict the torrential downpour of seconds before. .
From exploring an underwater observatory, looking at falls and fur seals up close and personal, to riding sea swells out in the ocean or seeing canyon falls on the way in, overall this day was just spectacular. .
Our God creates beautiful things, and Milford Sound was a piece of that heaven right here on Earth.
Chillin’ with the Ancestors
The valleys along the NaPali coastline for generations supported vibrant Hawaiian communities, until fresh water sources were diverted to sugar cane fields, foreign sailors brought diseases, ........ History sucks. But if we don’t learn about the past we’ll never do better. Greed is legit.
An amazing day spent on the water with flying fish, NaPali dolphin pod, turtles, monk seals, goats (yes, goats), and breaching humpback wales. And amazing guides - Mahalo, Manu and Keanu! 🤙🏽🌈 @capt.andys#captandys
July 18 is celebrated as International #MandelaDay to inspire us to embrace the values #NelsonMandela was sentenced to life in prison and spent 27 years imprisoned for - equality, diversity, democracy, freedom, and human rights. Very relevant message in today’s social climate! By the way, this photo was taken in #Johannesburg, #SouthAfrica sometime in April 2014. #actionagainstpoverty#Joburg
#ThrowbackThursday to #Scotland five years ago, June 2013. The wind, cold, rain, and slippery trail did not stop me from exploring the ruins of the #DunnottarCastle. This 11th century castle is situated on a badly eroding cliff on the eastern coast of Scotland and offers a spectacular view of the #NorthSea. I would love to visit this site in the snowy winter months, I bet it is just as beautiful.

“I only went out for a walk, and decided to stay out until sundown. For going out, I found, was really going in.” - John Muir.... #throwback to last May 2017’s trip to #Japan. #Tokyo remains one of my favorite cities to visit.

What does #history tell us about walls built to separate us from each other? They eventually fail. People will find ways to get around, over or under them. And at some point, many will even hike it! #tbt to #trekking the #GreatWall of #China last May 2017.

One of the best things you can do for social media growth is to post consistently!
It’s like dating: you wouldn’t want someone to text you twice in one day and then not hear from them in a week 🤣👩🏼💻
I offer this advice up to my clients often, but in practice I’m not very good at it either... heck, I haven’t even posted in a week even though I have a whole hard drive of photos to share #yikes
I know I fail at being consistent when I worry that my images “aren’t good enough” so I’m going to stop striving for perfection. After all, done ✅ is better than perfect in my book ✨
I’m curious, what keeps you guys from not positing consistently?!
