🇬🇧 Day 4 and how could it be different - lake number 4😊.
Today we spent the day at the Vordersee, a little south of the Fuschlsee there is pure relaxation far away from the typical tourism. Definitely worth a visit.
Can you recommend other lakes in the area?

Happy #earthday ! As a Christian I firmly believe in living a waste conscious lifestyle (always a work in progress) and actively taking dominion of creation. Taking dominion doesn't mean that we can just f*** nature. It means learning and nurturing the world we've been given. .
Along with that comes how we act when we enjoy the wilderness. We try to live by the leave no trace principles the best we can. I was taught to always leave our campsites better than we found them and to make sure it looked like no one had ever been there. Not familiar with the principles? Here's the list -
Plan ahead and prepare.
Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
Dispose of waste properly.
Leave what you find.
Minimize campfire impacts (be careful with fire).
Be considerate of other visitors.
I'll go into these more in my stories. .
We came across some sheep and an Adder on our walk today 🐑 🐍 I had to stop Fin doing a Steve Irwin and diving on it to get a closer look 🤦♀️ #littleadventures#brothers#nofear

It’s been absolutely beautiful here for the past seven days. The perfect temperature and sunny. Today was more of the same. We continued our Easter celebration by riding bikes to a nearby park and grilling all sorts of tasty goodness on a portable grill. We stayed from one until six enjoying the warm sun. At one point there were six other families all grilling outside as well. It was a glorious day. #5detersboys#thedetersmovetogermany#adventurefamily

Excuse me while I’ve been running around like a crazy person the last couple weeks.
Moving sucks, ya’ll. •
Just wanted to check in here! We’ve been spread so thin, stressed out and completely neglecting everything else lately. The good news is that things are mostly packed up and picked up and we made a decision to rent a small storage unit for personal mementos, artwork and other things that we want to keep but won’t work in a small space and the movers come on Friday! •
Can’t wait to share more once we are in the new space and we start the fun part of designing a functional, minimalist, small home for our family. •
Any tips for designing in a rental? Give me all the small living inspo!!
This guy is eight months!! Yep, it’s so true what they say-looong days (and nights), and short months (soon to be short years)! It’s been such a pleasure watching Levi grow and transform! I’m such a lucky mama.
Things he’s into and doing these days: •crawling/scooting forward (he’s been traveling backwards mainly. •he loves his Brown Bear book. •he loves the warm hot tub (loves water-go figure). •he’s still a super duper traveler (we camped and climbed for the first time this past weekend). He loves the colors and textures of rocks! (Starting him early). •he said his first word, “mama”. (Sorry babe). But I’m pretty sure he is close to saying, “dada”! 😜
•he is still getting introduced to solid foods of all kinds but prefers the boob. •he is a happy and smiley boy, making us as parents always light up, but also people around him. •he doesn’t mind when other people hold him and play with him. •he’s taking in this world around him at an exponential rate now and it’s been fantastic to observe life through his eyes. •he’s got his mama and papa’s heart strings wrapped around his little fingers, his wrist rolls, and his chunky thighs, and we STILL can’t believe the love that’s possible. 😍 .

Happy Earth Day!
Let's appreciate the Earth's beauty, celebrate how spectacular it is and take care of our planet. It's important to me to teach my kids to be kind to our earth and all living things that call it home 🌎
Hiking isn't on our agenda today but we try to get out and explore whenever we can! Our trip to Zion last fall was breathtaking and I know it won't be our last visit to this beautiful National Park.
Our little girl playing with the locals in Kyoto, Japan ☺ Whenever we travel with the kids we always try to visit local parks and playgrounds in between all the sightseeing. Gives the kids a chance to run around and for us to take a moment. I love seeing our little ones interact with children from different cultures - kids truly don't know racism and regardless of language the kids play happily together ☺
Welcome to Bangkok! Wow, love at first sight 😍
This city is incredible and I know to won’t be our last time here. I feel like you can find anything you want here.
We saw Ferrari’s driving down the street while a street vendor does laundry in a bucket on the road. We saw the most incredible malls to date and such humble poverty.
We loved the people from the get go! So kind, so easy going, so loving ❤️
Have you been to Bangkok? If not, get it on your travel list!
Real talk: I’ve struggled with my body image since I was a teenager. An on going battle that a lot of women struggle with in our world and we continuously allow it to shape us.
As a teenager I played soccer religiously. To the point that I had an eating disorder because I exercised too much. My thighs were always bigger than my friends and I was ashamed of that. Not knowing at the time that these legs made me stronger. Able to play harder. I just saw them as a means to being different and I hated that.
As college rolled around and my athletic choices changed I started whitewater kayaking. My shoulders and arms began to broaden and I then felt ashamed for that. The new strength was shadowed by my embarrassment for yet again being different than the women around me.
Fast forward to motherhood and I really struggled with the change in my body. I still have been. With the dramatic change I put myself down a lot. Bought bigger clothes to hide my softer tummy and refused to wear a swimsuit in the summers.
I’ve gotten better. I’ve changed my lifestyle and I’ve made healthier choices. Chosen to eat better so I can feel better. Worked on my self care and my emotional health. Embraced the fact that this adorable tiny loving human next to me gave me more than a new body but she gave me a full heart.
I’m learning still to love myself...daily. And some days I have to give myself grace. Room to grow. And a reminder that I’m just the way I’m suppose to be. That I’m strong enough to carry my daughter up mountains, strong enough to paddle hard down a river, strong enough to do all the things I love.

One of my favorites of all time - my two adventure buddies 💕 This was Lana’s first long hike. 11 miles was nothing for our floppy-eared, little rockhopper. I was worried about it being too far for her, so Scott carried her a few times...she loved the view. #puppiesfirstlonghike
Have you heard of Jeju Island? If not, @kiwisinbarefeet says it's about time to add it to your family's travel list! As South Korea's largest island, Jeju has long been one of the country's top vacation destinations. It's easy to get to from many other cities across Asia (there are direct flights from Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai to name a few) and offers both beautiful beaches and lush green countryside. If you're looking for some other places to add to your South Korea itinerary, @kiwisinbarefeet recommends planning to spend some time in Gyeongju. This mainland city is often referred to as "the museum without walls" and is an important center of ancient Korean history. ⠀
Have any of you been to South Korea with kids? If so, which cities or experiences would you recommend to other parents? Let us know in the comments! #gowithnugget ⠀

Your dad and I took the day off yesterday in favor of a little more #outdoorschool time for you in probably the most important classroom you’ll ever step foot into. We spent the better part of the day out on the water together and I could barely believe that you were either silently engaged or smiling THE. WHOLE. TIME!! Not one fuss or utterance of displeasure. Not a peep! The best part was that I had you out of your pack so that I could feed you your lunch on the riverbank right when your Dad hooked into a HUGE rainbow trout...and so we dropped everything, scooped up the net, and got down into the water. There I was with one arm around you on my hip and one hand grasping the net with anticipation. And after a pretty darn good fight, you helped me net Dad’s awesome fish, up close and personal! It was truly a family affair! And right then I had everything in the world I could possibly ever want for or imagine. We are SO divinely blessed to be your parents and SO fortunate to be able to share all that we love about this world with you, and that you in turn are learning to love it too! And when the day was done, I cried happy tears of gratitude while thanking God for bringing you to us - he wrote it in the stars for the river to sing, that we were meant to be 🙏🏼💕 #raisethemwild#raisethemoutdoors
