Been a busy bee the last two weeks 🐝 Can’t wait to drop more pics like this from my studio shoot with @david_michael_images 🔥 (this was heaps fun and we got so many images!)
Do you live a busy life or a relaxed life?
When I was seventeen, I became close friends with a guy. He was full of character, had a fantastic sense of humour, loved music, rocked his own style and had one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known.
We bonded over our favourite musicians and how we couldn’t quite make sense of our own minds, which isn’t abnormal for teenagers.
However as the years passed, his mind became harder and harder for him to tame. While we were still good friends, we had drifted over the years and didn’t chat as frequently as before, so I didn’t realise quite how bad it was, until it was too late.
Almost three years ago, we lost him to suicide. His name was Mungo and yesterday he would have turned 24.
I’ll always miss him and I wish things had been different for him, but he will never be forgotten. He’s always had a big impact on my life.
He is a big part of my motivation behind spreading mental health awareness. We can’t change the outcomes for the people who have passed, but we can honour their memory by talking openly, lifting the stigma, being kind and reminding others that they’re not alone. I know these things have helped me in tough times and I hope they might make a difference for someone else too.
Sometimes life can get real rough, but life can always get better too. ❤️ Photographer: @dave_leane

💎💙 only thing that’s been getting me through the pain I’ve been in for the last few days. Can’t thank marijuana enough for being able to help me and so many other people.. 💙💎
In my new profession as an Art Director, my role is to make sure the creative strategy of each photo shoot is met. It’s also my role to oversee the entire team to make sure we achieve “the shot”. Usually what happens when we get what’s promised, I encourage my dad to go off script and capture the the unexpected. It’s often during this time that the best shots are captured. Let’s face it, you can’t plan genius. I like to under promise then over deliver, it is my motto.
In this photo you can see daddy and I hard at work. We’re photographing Beau the blue Border Collie puppy for @pettecc and a brand new top secret ad campaign! Dad has a unique set of skills as a commercial photographer of 11 years and also runs a side business called Fluff And Stuff pet photography that deals with the domestic portraiture sector. He’s also been thrown into dog ownership with me, although that’s what I let him believe coz as this photo clearly illustrates, I’m the boss/owner.
“Just a bit more to the left dad, no, the right. Ok now focus.. FOCUS.. SHOOT!! Ok now beau, sit.. look at the camera, give me some Blue Steel.. work it... WORK IT Beau Beau!! That’s it! Hold that right there!! HOLD IT!! **CLICK**! YASS! We got the shot!! Chicken treats all around!!”
Thanks @samuelgravesphotography for capturing this shot of dad and I at work while in your varied role as Camera Assistant, Second Shooter and Doggy Carer. 🐶
