"Going home in his pickup truck, there was an “indelible impression left on my soul”, a recognition of injustice and unfairness for children on the Mexican side."
“Simply due to where I was born, a few miles north of this line, I was free to travel back and forth as I saw fit,” she told an audience at the United Nations in Geneva on Monday. Thousands of others would risk everything “for a mere shot and an opportunity to have that which I was just awarded due to this accidental luck of my birth on the other side. That was when I first started to pick up on the sensation.”
Social media now gives everybody the chance to change things, with online campaigns like #Metoo, Time’s Up, and Black Lives Matter, and while Hollywood had a responsibility to lead, it had failed to do so, she said.
“There is a certain amount of irony in the sense that Hollywood is often held up as some sort of bastion of progressive ideals, yet is actually in reality the exact opposite. “On some of the most basic rights that we are starting, thank goodness, to take for granted in other disciplines, in other businesses, whether it is inclusion, pay equality, representation, diversity, you name it, we fall way behind.” @amberheard 🙌 pic by @ToddKrim ☀️ #AmberHeard#actress#activist#ambassador#UnitedNations#StandUp4HumanRights#HumanRights#Mera#Aquaman#hero#superhero#inspiration#dccfans#dccmovies#dccomicsmovies#dccomicsfans#dcmovies#dcc#dceu

Liam Payne says Russell Brand inspired him to engage more in politics. Liam openly admits to showing a lack of interest in politics in his younger days, however now has become much more informed and opinionated on social issues than before, which was a conscious decision after being inspired by comedian and activist Russell Brand, who has even appeared on Question Time and met with former Labour Leader Ed Miliband to discuss politics. Liam said, “I didn’t know anything about politics but Russell used to make me think and want to look at politics. So I think it’s quite important that we have those examples. Obviously a lot of teenagers can’t vote yet, but getting them ready for that, they never really did that in my day. Now we are in these important times with different elections happening. Young people need to get into it more.”

The struggle to have my humanity recognized by the state is nothing new. It’s hard wired in my DNA. Still black. Still transgender. Still human. Still here. And still fighting.
How petting farms contribute to the meat industry
Hoe kinderboerderijen bijdragen aan de vleesindustrie
Anouk is geboren afgelopen mei.
Anouk was born last May. Together she was with her mom at a petting farm in Rotterdam West. Now they're separated; the other cow's gonna give birth soon, and Anouk will be taken away and eventually slaughtered.
Because there's no space? Not exactly, it's more because they want a new calf. If they wanna show little animals to kids, they should also show slaughterhouse footage of what happens to those cute animals.
Other petting farms have similar policies or cases. Hence, they contribute to the meat industry. Their caregivers have to stand and watch the animals being taken away to their death.
A petting farm is not as lovable as it seems sadly. The only thing I know is that in the end Anouk will go to the rainbow paradise. It was heartbreaking to say goodbye.
