#italie#accident#genes#choquee#drame
(Sorry for the shaky video, I was almost involved in this crash). Guys, please be super careful on the roads. I was riding behind these two cars that were behind a fonterra milk tanker and as it slowed down and went to turn, the front car braked hard to avoid collision into the tanker and caused the man tailgating her to crash into her and push her into the back of the tanker hard. I immediately turned my bike off and ran so fast I nearly fell to make sure that the people were okay, proceeded to call 111 (emergency number) and then guided traffic with two other wonderful ladies.
I stayed with the victims until help came and found out the lady in the front cars’ leg had broken as it had been crushed. The man behind escaped injury and was worried for my safety especially. I’m so glad that this wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. I’m also happy that my brakes managed to stop me half a metre before hitting the man in the second car.
Thanking everyone in Ohaupo that took their time to help with this accident, all the NZ police who were super patient and calm, to the firefighters who took out the windscreen and sawed the door out to free the lady who was trapped in her car with the broken leg, to the ambulance operators and nurses who made sure that everyone including myself were alright and to everybody else involved. @email@example.com
PLEASE DRIVE/ RIDE SAFELY!
LONG POST (for me): This is my dad's truck after someone ran a stop sign in front of him while he was going ~50mph. He's ok and so is the other idiot, and that's the most important thing. But it really makes you think about how fleeting life is. So many variables here, and both my dad and the other driver were lucky enough to walk away with their lives.
He was supposed to run the @spartanrace in Barre with me and my brother, but was a little to banged up to do so. Yet he still came out to see and support us. I can't express how grateful I am that I was able to see my dad so quickly after such a bad accident, not to mention how casually he shrugged it off in support of me and my brother. My dad is my inspiration.
Last photo taken just hours before my whole life changed forever 💥 🚗 ♿️ 13/12/'14
This was the last photo taken before my accident ♿️ not sure what we were doing (probably goofing around as usual) and why AJ is doing 'the pink panther walk' in the background but it just made me laugh and a reminder that I'm still that same person in the photo, wheelchair bound and paralyzed, or not, your physical state doesn't have to alter your character and personality ☝🏼️ YOU determine that, not what happened to you ♿️
So this happened while I was having lunch: a tour bus went out of control, hit a truck and a sedan and was stopped by a police vehicle which the officer used as a brake for the bus. No serious injuries.
